I am EXTREMELY sad and heartbroken to write this today. I can honestly say I have given this establishment my business for TWO years since moving from Virginia. Their work is amazing, but the service I received today and the past two visits has caused me to begin the search of another great nail technician. Their work is great, but I have noticed that your service level depends on what service you request, and if they are busy or not. I get the same service each and every time. I am a busy car dealer/ single parent. Sunday’s are my day to come in. My kiddo comes with and sits quietly waiting with his tablet or my phone. Today they were busy, after waiting to be helped (Amy let me know it could be 30-45 mins and I agreed) I was seated and waited for my pedicure to begin. I selected a wonderful white tea pedi.
After the pedicure was finished I was waiting to be instructed on where to sit for my dip nails to be started when my pedicure tech let me know that it would be a while before Amy could get to me but that she would grab me when she was ready. I was waiting for toes to dry so I waited (Kiddo quietly fell asleep in vacant pedi seat next to me)
I was told after about 30 mins that Amy was ready. I gathered my things (with no assistance that anyone would usually offer) and they all stared. I began to sit down. Amy looked very upset and puzzled, and I assume it was because I asked if I could sit my kiddo in the vacant seat next to me (keep in mind we’ve been doing this for two years with this place never had an issue) the light was off at the station I asked to use (no signs of a client nor a person working) and she told me no, someone may come soon.
She continued to stare as I was trying to figure out whether to leave or attempt to hold my kiddo since I did wait and go through this 2 1/2 hour song and dance for this darn service. I felt uncomfortable and could hardly say maybe I’ll come back another time before Amy, the owner decided to say (yeah, maybe you should since he’s sleeping and the powder will bother him as he sleeps) As I was leaving in humiliation (slight mom shaming happening here, as she horridly stared... yet again without saying a word) no assistance offered yet again as it is a tight space and every chair in the wall area was pulled out. I paid, and tipped. She then put a receipt and pen on the table and stared as she started ushering her next client to sit. I left. And will not be back. If this was something about a child coming on Sundays (even though this has been a thing for TWO years) then please let me know. But don’t shame me (as I’ve seen clients bring children as well from time to time). If you were busy and my pink and white tips were taking up more time than you wanted then be upfront and ask me to make an appointment or let me know that you need me to wait to make sure I get the time whatever you need to do. But this treatment was unacceptable and honestly hurt my feelings. I thought I was spending my money in a good place, and really enjoy the work you guys do.
Such a disappointment! P.S. please keep in mind your level of service depends on what you’re requesting and which clients they feel...
Read moreI was the 2nd person in there this morning & told them I wanted a full set and a pedicure; I asked them if they had the glow powder and was told yes. They sent me to the back to do my pedicure 1st, the girl hands me a menu and I chose the deluxe, which is supposed to take only 40 minutes.... an hour and 10 minutes later, she has rubbed several different lotions on my legs, but no hot wax, nor did she scrub with enough pressure, my heels are still dry and cracked, and need to be sloughed off. I can and will have to do a better job in the shower tonight! Then she asked me if I I want a manicure today; I tell her yes, that I told them when I came in that I wanted a full set with the glow powder. OMGSH! They acted like it was such a BIG deal, talking amongst themselves throughout the salon about the glow (that word I could understand); so, as Mia, the girl who did my pedicure, set me down under the light for my toe nails to dry, they’re still going on and on about me wanting the glow powder, plus I’m told Anna’s gonna do my nails for me, so 10 minutes later she comes to talk to me, and doesn’t seem to understand what I’m wanting, so somebody else comes to talk to me, who seems to understand, and tells me Cindy is going to do my nails; I sit down at Cindy’s station and she starts trying to drill my nail beds, I pull away, telling her that I want a full set, and she tells me she’s going to do powder for me (with no tips). At that point, I had been there a little over 2 hours and had only had a pedicure done, and not a very good one, so I told her I was done and would pay for the pedicure, but I was leaving! Of course, everyone wants to give me their attention at that point to try to keep me there, but it was too late! I was DONE! I offered to pay for the pedicure repeatedly, but they made me so mad, I ended up in tears, asking them yet again repeatedly if they wanted me to pay for the pedicure or not, because there were plenty of witnesses to say that I offered to pay for it, so if they want me to pay for it, I would, otherwise I was walking out the door! They wanted me to tell them what was wrong and had gone wrong, so they could understand, I told them that I wasn’t talking about it, and asked again if they wanted me to pay for the pedicure or not, the guy said no, that he wasn’t going to charge me, because I was unhappy. So, I left! If using the glow powder is such a big deal, then perhaps they shouldn’t offer it! And if a pedicure is supposed to take 40 minutes, it shouldn’t go over 50 minutes, and the deluxe should have the hot wax included (it does everywhere else), and there is absolutely NO reason I should have been sitting there OVER 2 hours and only having had a pedicure done. There is a DEFINITE language barrier with most of the nail techs in here! And my time is valuable, I don’t have 3 hours to waste sitting around in a nail salon until they feel like getting around to me! I doubt I’ll...
Read moreIn my venture to find a nail salon that was closer to my house than the previous salon I used, I stumbled upon Q Spa Nails. One of the things I was searching for was a person who could implement the design I wanted. I always seem to come away disappointed when I go in with a specific idea. After reading the reviews, it seemed like a good place to try. Boy, was I sorely disappointed.
Upon sitting down to get my nails done, I was asked if I'd brought my own nail filer. To which, stunned, I replied hesitantly "no". She asked if it'd been a while since I'd been there, as if somehow I should know to bring my own nail filer. I told her this was my first experience here, so she informed me it'd be $2 to purchase a filer and nail buffer from them. It's bewildering to me that a nail salon would require you to provide your own supplies, I liken it to a restaurant requiring you to bring your own cutlery. Ok fine, I'm already here, let's proceed.
I showed her a picture of a design I wanted which included hombre nails, and the ring finger baring a design. She talked me out of getting the little pearls on the ring finger, which I'm not mad at. But... I didn't get the hombre either, so I was disappointed with the overall outcome.
This brings me to my second complaint... the price. I've never been to a nail salon that charges you based on the length of the tip you add to your nails, how many designs you do on how many fingers, etc. Now, I don't necessarily mind paying extra, if I'm being given some magical service, or provided with some sort of extra. If I'm getting the same quality nails that I can go down the street and pay about $15 less for, then what is my reasoning for returning to this salon? I didn't even get cuticle oil. I got some half hearted scrub down on my hands that lasted about 30 seconds.
Bottom line, as nice as the staff was, and as pleasant as the aesthetics were, I don't think I can justify paying $70 (tip included) for nails that don't wow me. Mind you, these are short nails. I can only imagine how much more I would've had to pay if my...
