This is my go-to Mall for H & M and Earthbound. I wish they would bring in more clothing stores.
The only downside is the mall security. I take my toddler here to play and oftentimes I see one of the Male officers taking his role too far. The Supervisor left an impression on me when he made a young black boy leave the play area, because he was too tall or too old, I'm not even sure because he looked like he belonged. And at the same time a young white boy was playing who was comparable in size and age, but he didn't ask him to leave.
I confronted the security officer and ask him what the problem was. He tried to downplay his actions, but it was so apparent that he took issue with the black kid playing. It was a disgusting experience. Even more so painful to watch the young black boy's elderly grandparents walk away with him.
There is no reason for security officers to be inside the child's play area other than to observe and ensure safety.

It was unfortunate to see the same security officer in the children's area. Yet another day of removing kids that were seemingly fine and safe. He then walked in my direction after noticing a cup seated between myself and another parent. Fortunately, it belonged to her. I could tell he thought it was mine. He then notices my toddler's drink in my purse and proceeds to tell me it's not allowed.
I completely understand no drinks in the play area, but if the parents seating area is within the play area, why would I dispose of her only drink.
I proceed to leave the play area and go upstairs to exit the mall. My nine-year-old notices that we are being followed. I turned around and it was officer Benjamin Perez on his Segway stopped behind. I asked him why he was following us and he said he wasn't. I tell him how inappropriate his actions were and he proceeded to tell me that if I returned to the mall that he would call Fort Worth Police Department on me. Why? I have NO idea. He then asked for my identification and my name, I refused to provide him anything.
I continue to walk to the car with my daughters as he's watching us.
That is harassment and a type of strong arm bullying. It confirms he's just as racist...
Read moreIll start by saying this mall was incredibly empty when I visited. There's some sections where, especially on the 2nd floor, its empty store after empty store. But I honestly love it. The architecture of the mall is very interesting and there is still some populated areas and very cool things to see. There's a little mini zoo place, fun game rooms, a little RC club and track, etc. Even though it's lacking on the business factor and number of actual shops, life is still clinging to this mall in other ways. It's slightly melancholic to an extent but I kind of revel in that. It feels odd to say but it's interesting to me to walk through the abandoned places and kind of piece together what might've once been there. I don't do much shopping at malls anyway. I more so go to walk around and look at the architecture and few fun shops. For that purpose this mall delivered. The look of the mall is fairly unique, It's got that slight aged look which gives it a very interesting vibe. While it is a bit sad to see what was probably at one point a very busy and booming mall get lost to modernity, it's still quite beautiful and worth a visit. And for me personally, that factor of it makes it more enticing. Almost like visiting a museum or once historical building. There are most certainly more exciting and fun things to do around fort worth, no doubt. But In this life, especially if your like me and don't have a lot of money to spend, you have to make your own entertainment. And this mall was plenty entertaining and satisfying for me personally. A still standing aging monolith of American capitalism incarnate. An almost cruel reminder of the dead and dying American dream. The tideline where the last wave crashed...
Read moreUpdate: SeaQuest closed and Auntie Anne's pretzels closed at the turn of the new year and Journeys just left this week at the time this review was last updated and last I went they have âcoming soonâ signs on some storefronts⌠will be interesting to see what pans out if ever. It seems like the focus is on the Hispanic community based on what is opening here which I don't mind at all. There's no other options for the mall to gravitate toward other kinds of places than mom and pop places. They are begging people to rent spaces. There's a couple new places in the food court.
Original post: The firm that owns this mall is trying as best as they can to bring life and activity into it, given the yard sign they posted right at the entranceway from Green Oaks Road, among other things. There is still traffic that comes in, but mainly it's mall walkers like myself. They play music through the speakers as loud just enough to try to make it sound like it's lively to try to make you forget it's dead.
However, in my view I wouldn't hold my breath on hoping this mall stays open. I'd give this place 18 months, if that, if it continues down this path of store after store closed & with no real changes. What seems to drive people in anyway other than the movie theater is SeaQuest. Even Bath and Body Works, which you can find at most every other dead mall, is not here anymore where you can tell it used to be. Again, they are trying their best but their best isn't seemingly good enough. Two tenants were given lockout notices. There's water damage at a part of the ceiling by where I think Macy's was?
How they can keep paying the bills with as many stores empty is a...
