well, while vacationing in Scottsdale we heard about this and saw a picture so we drove the 45 min up to see it.
First problem: it only works every hour on the hour. So we walked around in 100 degree heat to kill 40 min until it went off again. Joined another 20 people or so down by the waters edge about 5 min before it was supposed to go off.
Second problem: After spending 20 min sitting under a tree waiting, we gave up. Stopped by a cafe next to the parking lot and inquired as to why it was not working, and found out that if there is any wind at all, they do not operate the fountain!!
There was maybe a 3-5 kt light breeze blowing, so whatever.
Fountain Hills: How about a sign or something that gives folks a heads up vs letting us sit out in the heat waiting on something...
