We pretty much stumbled across this place on vacation in Denver last week and it might be the greatest breakfast spot ever. Very nice place inside and out, sort of a cross between old school and new school as far as the menu goes, but with all the good stuff. I had the barbacoa breakfast tacos, and they were incredible. We split an order of biscuits and gravy, and the gravy was delicious. Everything was fresh. Was not very crowded on the Thursday morning we went, around 9 or so. We liked it so much we tried to go back Saturday morning, and forget it, people were lined up outside the door, LOL. Cleary these folks are doing something right. If you're in the area and hungry for breakfast, don't even think twice about checking out First Watch! Excellent food! I took this picture of all these little electric bikes lined up outside. Not something you see often in Texas. Great experience all around!

Everyone is always so nice. Great regular spot for our family. Parents: Order kids first and it comes out really quickly!

Cozy spot for a Friday breakfast date with my husband . Wait time was minimal. The booths are spacious and there is plenty of seating. I loved the ambience, the farmhouse decor and the open concept of the restaurant. Menu options are your standard breakfast and brunch items. We had the Farm Stand breakfast tacos and The Works omelet - both dishes were cooked really well. Judging from the flavors, the restaurant does use fresh quality ingredients with less sodium (just like they say the do). Prices are reasonable. The only element of surprise was how each cup of coffee we ordered was $3.29 per cup. A bit steep for local/organic coffee considering we've had other brews from local restaurants that cost less - a learning experience. Our server Lauren and the hostess who showed us to our booth were both very friendly and attentive. Definitely going back here for more good food and decor inspiration.

(Short Version) Be sure to plan for about an hour and a half. You're going to need about 20 minutes to wait for your waiter to place your order. Then another 20 min to wait for your food about 10-15 to eat it because you will be starving by the time it arrives and then another 20 - 30 for your waitress to come back to your table so that you can get the check. Also, watch for a waiter added tip labeled as misc charge.

(Long Version) I went into the restaurant looking to have breakfast. Wasn't really looking for much. Just a good meal. What I got was a 15 minute wait broken up by me flagging down my waiter. When I finally got her attention she asked me if I had been helped which seemed rather odd since I was sitting in her section, but whatever. I answered no and then she said, "Oh ok. I'll be right back." She returned with coffee and tried to upsell me on one of their four dollar specialty juices. I said no thank you and then said that I was ready to put in my order. She took my order and then went to another table in her section.

When she go to their table I could hear her apologizing for the food taking so long followed by the usual "have a nice day" wrap up. I should have jumped up and left then, but I was hungry. I did the hungry person "should I try somewhere else" math and figured that going to another restaurant would take just as long. So I stayed.

I asked for water, orange juice and coffee. Thought that I would cover all of the liquid bases since it didn't seem like she would be returning after the food got there. I got the orange juice and the coffee. Two out of three ain't bad, but I should have taken the hint. Sooo many signs...

Then my meal came and It was missing the side of bacon. Hmmm...I guess I knew that this was coming, but then the kicker happened after I finished eating. I go to the counter and hand the cashier my receipt. My receipt said 20.75, but the amount that shown on the payment portal was 23.86. I thought that was odd until I did the math. I asked the cashier what happened since my bill said 20.75. She said, oh...Sarah (not her real name) has something on here called misc.for 3.11 let me find out what this is. She then went back to the kitchen and returned to the stand a little bewildered. I think that we both new what had gone down.

"Ok, I don't know what that is, but let me take it off." she said not meeting my gaze. I said thank you paid my bill and left. Do the math. The server knew that her service was bad and added her own 15% tip as a miscellaneous charge. This is the first time that a waiter not only gave me bad service, but also tried to steal from me. It's not a bad place. Just pay attention to your bill and expect to be there...

Edit 1/18/24: So. We did finally go back in December 2023. The food would have been good... if it wasn't cold. Mine and my dad's food had clearly not been under the warmer for 10+ minutes. My mom actually had hot food. And cold eggs are just not very appealing. Service was better this time though...

Edit 2/6/22: My parents and I stopped here for lunch and our second experience here was absolutely disappointing. We walked in and were seated almost immediately despite it being very busy. We sat at the table for 10 minutes without being acknowledged, even though 2 waitresses walked by us each at least 3 times, looked at our table and did/said nothing. It wasn't until one of them finally realized we were all staring at her and that we had an empty table that she said, "Oh, have you not been helped yet? Let me go get someone for you." So instead of offering to get us drinks she went into the kitchen and then the 2nd waitress who had walked by us a few times came to the table. We placed our orders immediately but not 2 minutes later the 2nd waitress came back out and tells us that the wait time for food would be 40 to 45 minutes. We promptly left. We're not going back again because this experience was so terrible. They had plenty of waitstaff on the floor, so their lack of attentiveness and good customer service was NOT a matter of short staffing. Today's issue was that they just sucked.

Original review: Food was great! Service was quite slow. I assume it is because they are experiencing short staffing like everyone else, but for frame of reference it took us 40 min to get our food from the time we ordered. Staff was super friendly, though. Nice menu selection. I would recommendation calling ahead or reserving online due to how busy...

Update - Visit #2 (January 2025):

I definitely appreciate the farm to table feel they're going for, and my wife's scramble dish was pretty decent as were the seasoned potatoes.

However I was craving eggs Benedict again, and forgot I had ordered it 15 months ago. My review at least on this dish is consistent, the hollandaise was heavy on citrus (far beyond what's needed for the composition) while missing any rich buttery flavor and again my poached eggs were far over cooked (zero run and nearly chalky). I don't think eggs Benedict is a good dish to order here.

My wife and I were divided on the "million dollar bacon", but we did both agree we make better bacon at home and that we wouldn't buy it again.

We also had a pretty inattentive server while it wasn't all that busy (2/3 of the tables had patrons), so it was tough to get water and our check, easily adding 30 minutes to our visit.

First Visit (October 2023):

The service was good, but one of the big item categories on the menu is eggs benedict - unfortunately the hollandaise was pretty bland which put a damper on the dish.

I'll likely try again in case something else is more of their specialty and this was...
