I went for a 6 mile trail run from here. The start was a little steep but then the trail levels out and is a great trail for running. Most bikers were great, only 1 came right on me without saying anything until the last minute. There are sections that are single track and a few areas that are a little wider. The trail itself has a few interesting areas. There's a section along the creek which is beautiful. Then there's an area with boards to cross around a steep section (I have a pic since I'm not explaining well!). And a little later there are great views of the mountains across the way with the beautiful valley. The parking area was semi full when we got there, and is larger than I thought it would be when I looked at Google. There are also a few ways to go from here, I started on the Aqueduct trail.

We were staying in Breckenridge and wanted a good leaf peeping hike. Not sure how far you can hike. It's not a set loop we did about 2.5 miles. Gorgeous hike. Occasionally when we do this you have to go a mile in before you even see aspens. You can get amazing photos in the parking lot and never even hike if you don't want to. We were up September 20, 2025 leaf peeping season went early this year. This weekend might be peak?

Lovely little hike through the woods. Pass some flower fields, the river, and just nice forest pass. Not as scenic with the mountains and lake (at least at the beginning of the trail) as other paths but a really nice walk for fresh air and nature.

I'm torn about this trail. On one hand it is a beautiful trail that follows a lovely stream; with nice views and neat little picnic spots. Unfortunately, there seems to be quite a bit of illegal camping along the trail with trash strewn about and empty beer cans and liquor bottles. A couple syringes here and there only serve to destroy the beauty of this area. Some of these illegal camp sites appear to be permanent as well. Shame considering there is legal camping just up the road.

If you can overlook the trashed camp sites, this is still a very peaceful and beautiful trail. If the park Rangers did a better job of maintaining the trails, I would give this...
