This review refers to Unit 2163 managed by Evolve. Address 21620 US-6, Unit 8-2163, Keystone, CO 80435-7902. Booking.com refers to it as "Modern Keystone Retreat Pool Access and Mtn Views". It cost us $13,400 AUD for 16 nights!!! It is a beautiful property with a stunning west-facing view, room sizes are excellent and there is a big open fire in the main living area. We had been buying wood, for few days, from the local supermarkets, only to find wood is supplied free, by The Pines staff, and delivered to the door! No mean feat for anyone at 9,200’ up 3 flights of stairs! It would have been nice to know it was supplied free. The property is in the “Shortleaf” section of The Pines Resort. That part of the address is not mentioned on the Booking.com website but would have been helpful to find it. ||The Pines Resort has a shuttle bus, every 20 minutes, on the Yellow Route that goes to Mountain House. At Mountain House there are numerous other shuttles to take you to different areas around Keystone. There is a pool, and spa, at The Pines, but the temperature of the pool was quite cool! Spas were lovely. Down the road there is a spa resort called Alpenglow, at the Keystone Lodge, which provides amazing massages, and skincare experiences, with highly skilled staff.||Had we realised the property was an Airbnb, sold on Booking.com, we probably wouldn’t have booked it. Our experiences of Airbnb’s has been poor maintenance and this was no exception. On first glance it is stunning, but the cracks started showing early. No kettle, and a toaster with its bottom plate hardly held on by a piece of electrical tape. On asking, Housekeeping kindly supplied a new kettle and toaster. I asked about a mid-week clean and was told we could have one, but it would be at a cost. Seriously? We found that really shocking. My advice to anyone staying 16 nights, as we did, is to book the time as two separate weeks as there would be a 6-hour window for everything to be professionally cleaned, and the linen changed. There were no spare bed sheets so one day of our precious, hideously expensive holiday, was spent washing the bed linen, drying it and replacing it. We got the vacuum out only to find a faulty plug. On asking, a new vacuum was supplied but we had to put it together. That meant asking the workman, ripping up the floors next door, for a screwdriver. They had moved in after the neighbour had moved out, taking her barking dog with her. I really don’t think any of this should have happened especially as I double-checked there would be no animals. Apparently as she was the HOA President, she could have an animal! We have been left feeling we were the problem asking for basic, non-luxury items! There were numerous other issues such as a bed-light having no switch, the hairdryer was intermittent, lots of loose fittings, black human hair on bed linen, the ski locker not locking, keys we still have no idea what they were for, black human hair on the lounge cushions and so on. The beds were hard memory foam which we improved by buying a pillow top from Walmart at Frsico. It was n awful lot of money to pay for this very...
Read moreThis was our second time at keystone resort and we stayed at the pines condos. I want to say that overall we love skiing at this resort and the ski school for adults and kids is amazing. The room, however, for the price, is highly outdated with little amenities. We stayed in a one bedroom unit with a loft and the place was spacious with a nicely stocked kitchen and a great view of the mountains. That is the extent of the positive things to say though. This| is certainly going to sound like a first world complaint but we spent 1990 dollars for a 4 night stay(almost 500 a night), 2 adults 2 kids (ages 9 and 11) and the room was outdated, musty carpet, old grout in the tubs. The ability for temp control of the room was terrible. I also wish that the sales agent at keystone we rented from had given more advice about rooms on the resort when you have small kids. This condo is far from the parking lot and you have to go up and down stairs multiple times with all your suitcases, skiing gear and groceries. It was physically exhausting to move all our stuff in and and out of the unit. Additionally, there are no cleaning services for the entire time we stayed there. I certainly didn't realize that when we booked the location.(something the agent failed to tell me about on the phone) I just find that for the 500/night we spent, we would have received a little more amenities or even customer service. I saw only one keystone lodging representative who brought us a sheet set for the sofa bed the entire time we stayed there. We, in the end, paid for the views but in retrospect, wish we would have just stayed at a nearby airbnb. It would have been a tremendous savings and maybe even a...
