I recently attended the guns and hoses game, firefighters versus the police officers here with my family, and we were supposed to stay after to take in a key's game as well. I hadn't been to the stadium for years since I was a teenager and used to go to games with my cousin all the time. At least for the time that we were there, it was great. It hadn't changed a bit, and it was awesome taking my kids who had never been there before for their first baseball game experience. The only problem was that the actual keys game was rained out. No one's fault, but it still sucked. I did speak with one of my coworkers who did tell me that he heard that they were actually getting ready to tear down and redo the entire stadium. Hopefully, this happens, and if so, it would be awesome, and I can't wait to bring everyone back for another game when it does. The only issues that we had during our first family baseball experience were with the stadium staff. I didn't let it ruin our good time, nor would I give this venue any less than 5 stars because of it or let it keep me from going back. I just thought it should be mentioned so that maybe something could be done about it so it doesn't happen to anyone else. When we got to the ticket window to get our tickets, the woman who helped us just seemed like she was in a bad mood, or maybe this was her permanent mood. She got an attitude with my wife, which I didn't appreciate. It was because we only had cash, and when researched by my wife, it didn't state this anywhere. Regardless, she was very unprofessional, and her customer service skills were very lacking. Also, once in the stadium for the guns and hoses game their we're no ushers to tell us where we could and couldn't sit. However, when the keys game was getting ready to start, they showed up. As it turns out, we were in the wrong section of seats, which the usher with the same amount of bad attitude and unprofessional customer service skills let us know about as we were told to move. In the end, and especially if your organization does build a new stadium, please make sure to screen your employees better during your hiring process. Hope to see you guys in the future for another great baseball experience, and thank you from an...
Read moreNymeo Field at Harry Groves Stadium is more than just a stadium to watch the fine pastime of our Continental United States, but also, it is meant to be a stadium for massive potential in the Biden Administration; home to the former Baltimore Orioles Single A affiliate, the Frederick Keys, initially established in 1989 in the George Herbert Walker Bush Administration as a minor league squad with a name bearing the legacy of Francis Scott Key, a Frederick, Maryland native, whose contributions in the Battle of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812 would further contribute to the creation of the contemporary United States Star Spangled Banner.
Despite those historical comments, this field itself remains adorned with the elements of a former Minor League Ballpark, as the Concourse features similar food vendors and merchandise stands to retrieve your fine Frederick Keys gear at a nominal price, the presence of food stands also includes noticeable staples found usually at a minor league ballpark in the region, and in addition to such, a Bruster's Cart that I found to be a warm greeting back home as an East Coast Native.
The game's experience overall was also perpetual and was better than my previous experiences at Coors Field in Denver, Colorado, and cheaper, as you could get a better view upfront at promising draft prospects and the action on the field. And while the Frederick Keys lost the July 10th, 2024 contest to the West Virginia Black Bears, the experience made a fan of my capacity feel more engrossed with the action, as the experience was similar during the game to the experience at Major League Ballparks, featuring promotional races, guessing games, and the prominent 7th inning stretch to entice the slowly dwindling crowd present due to cooling climate and the game being a midweek experience.
Overall, despite the lack of talent on the field compared to when they were associated with the former Carolina League, the experience is still a perpetual experience that I would recommend anybody strive to check out on a...
Read moreGreat place for the whole family! They have something from young to old. We had a great time! And the Keys won! 👏
Plenty of seating, and the prices for tickets are great. We went on Faith night so they had a concert afterwards, with a powerful testimony, and great worship.
If you have little ones there is a nice fun zone. Don’t have any little ones, so not sure on pricing, but the kids over there seemed to have a blast.
Highly recommend eating before you go. The prices aren’t terrible, but many around us said the food wasn’t that great. A burger was about $8, Hot dog $6.50. Chicken tender and fries $12.50. A bottle of water was $4. They do say no outside food or drinks, but we saw many people with reusable water bottles, so I think they are flexible on this. They did have South mountain creamery there, and their prices seemed the same as their storefront. A snow cone was $6.50. Not much more than I pay from the truck at other events.
All of the staff were super friendly and helpful.
The firework show was spectacular!
Great game, and atmosphere! Definitely will go again. It had been years...
