Well, the horrible man who checked out my over $100 worth of fine goods at the front counter was the meanest nastiest man you could ever imagine. As a matter of fact, I mentioned him at a place in Winchester and they had heard about him. Isn't that a nice reputation? It was my first time ever in the store which had some exceptionally fine wears from the vendors - But the treatment at the front desk checkout was bar none. He also had a vendor they're helping him for free who he was yelling at. And my Lenton vase which i have just unpacked, which was in perfect condition and was not inexpensive, has one of the beautiful handcrafted porcelain flowers on the front broken off of it now that I've gotten it home.
They insisted on stuffing them into a box when I kept saying no. Please don't do that. I have a box for them in my car.
And of course there's a huge sign that says no refunds are exchanges. So even though they broke it, I'm stuck with a broken piece that cost me a quarter of $100.
That's not what I left the store with and that's not the condition I picked it up in.
The man actually brought me to near tears and the vendor who was helping him walked me to my car to try to make it right and say that. Oh no! He was actually really talking to me and he's like that all the time and I said well number one my first time here number two. I spent a good bit number three. I am the customer and there is no reason to berate a customer about anything when they're simply standing there waiting for their items to be checked out and paid for.
So there may be some lovely ladies working there. I'm not aware of that but I am where that this horrible curmudgeon is to be avoided and that there are many, many other shops around. I will never visit there again. BAD EXPERIENCE.

Read moreI understand the need for rules but sometimes this is ridiculous. Iâm diabetic and my normal purse is a bit oversized and I keep everything I need in it like my insulin, snacks, etc. A lady with an accent and pink hair told me the purse wasnât allowed. I asked if I could leave it up front. She said no, I had to leave it in the car.. fine, okay. The only other bag I had was a small old navy cardboard bag. I got stopped again and had to announce my condition in front of multiple people checking out. It was very embarrassing. I actually ended up apologizing to THEM out of embarrassment. One of the ladies did apologize to me privately, which I appreciative of. She was very kind and sympathetic. I understand she couldnât have known. And her consideration is why Iâm leaving this place 2 stars instead of 1.
As I was leaving (after not buying anything because I just didnât see anything I liked) the woman with the pink hair told me again I couldnât have the small brown old navy bag. I understand it might look suspicious, but it wasnât my first choice to shop with obviously.
I told her again that I had to put my original purse away and this was the only bag I had that would hold my insulin, wallet, keys, snacks, etc. and that I was leaving anyways.
If you come here, make sure you bring multiple purses so you can go back and forth until you find the arbitrary size the staff deems appropriate. If you have a diaper bag or any larger bag needed to carry supplies, I would just skip out unless youâre prepared to have to disclose why you need the bag in front of people multiple times. In my opinion the antiques just werenât worth the hassle.
Iâm sure theyâre nice people and vendors, but it was just a mediocre to unpleasant experience overall. Itâs a shame they have a...
Read moreWent into Old Glory for the first time today with my significant other; we go antiquing constantly, but this is the first time visiting this establishment. I saw a sign on the door that said âno backpacks or large bags,â ok, I was at the antique mall in Emittsburg yesterday with the same SMALL purse and did not have a single person say a thing. I was about 8 minutes in when this woman comes rushing from the back yelling, embarrassingly loud, âmaâam! Maâam! We have a rule that no large bags be allowed in the antique mall.â I did get annoyed, but my boyfriend took my purse out. Ok. We walk around, and this woman is always a booth away from us, it was so uncomfortable, and got to the point that my boyfriend had to tell her âlook, we arenât going to steal anything you donât have to stay right on top of us. She said it was her job to âpatrol.â We were both further annoyed and embarrassed and decided to leave as we saw her running to another booth owner talking loudly about us, and we said she could stop because we were leaving. On the way out the person at the register said âhave a nice day!â And I said, âit would be a little hard after that experience.â And my boyfriend added in that we felt very unwelcome and would not be returning. What did the older lady to the left (either works there or booth renter) says, âwell good then donât come back! We donât want you here!â Awesome customer service Old Glory! Your establishment is full of rude, immature, disrespectful and arrogant people who do not know customer service, let alone how to have a normal interaction with another human being. Horrible! Iâve never felt so targeted...
