The Frederick Sonic is the WORST Sonic location my family has ever been to. Whenever we drive through Frederick we consider going to the Sonic there but it has been a disappointment so many times that we generally avoid it. We have been there multiple times and they do a horrible job every time. I guess we keep going back because we hope that Corporate has stepped in to solve the problems. First I will address yesterday’s visit and then I will address our past visits. I was driving through Frederick yesterday and a strawberry slush sounded so good. So I decided to brave the Sonic and hoped they had gotten their act together since previous visits. The drive-thru line wound around the building into the parking lot so I decided not to use the drive-thru. I pulled into a spot and used my app to order so that I knew I was putting my order in as I wanted it. I submitted my order and waited probably 15-20 minutes before getting worried about my order. My order had disappeared from the screen so I pressed the red button. It was probably 10 minutes before the button was answered with an angry “HOLD ON!” I was pretty upset at that point. 5 minutes later someone said “what can I get you?” I told them I was waiting for my mobile order. He went to figure out where the order was. 5 minutes later someone said “What can I get you?” I said “I have a mobile order that I’m waiting for. I’ve already paid for it.” He said “Was it just a pretzel?” I said no and listed my order. He said he’d figure it out. 10 minutes later a waitress with VERY long nails (I don’t mind long nails in general, but not on a waitress who handles food.) brought me my food. I checked my order right away and found that I was missing my cheese dip. I told her as she was walking away and she actually tried to check my bag as if I wasn’t telling the truth about a missing cheese dip. I did not allow her to stick her face in my bag of food and insisted she bring me the cheese dip. Probably 5 minutes later she came back with some and I left as quickly as I could. In the past we have waited just as long if not longer for our orders. Our orders are consistently wrong, missing items and missing napkins, straws and utensils. The drive thru line takes FOREVER to get through. They’re consistently short on inventory like cups and lids. We have also come to this location at opening time to be told that their manager never showed up and they weren’t opening until the manager came in. They had no idea when that would be and if they would even open that day. This location also doesn’t open until 9:30 am which I think is ridiculous since they...
Read moreTurn back, run! I have been to this establishment a few times, but this last time I went was the final straw. I will never return to this sonic. My family and I ordered over $100 of food every time we go. Every time we have to wait for our food, and what our food arrives, it's always cold, so we tell them to remake the food. This last time they came with our food pretty quickly; I was shocked, to be honest, we Usually wait over 20-30minutes. When they brought us our food, all of our fries were cold our sandwiches were slop and cold. Our ice slushy's Taste like pure syrup was poured in the cup. They didn't even mix the drink, just Through it on top of the ice and three fruit pieces for each slushy that we ordered. So I pushed the red button and told them that our food was not fresh. The server over the mic question me; you never question a customer? I told her that the food is not fresh we need it remade. They end up remaking the food for us, but here is the insane part. Once we got our food remade, she asked for the old food back. Any other time we went and asked for them to make us something fresh, they've never asked for the food bank. So we gave them the food back. Once we open the bags and I passed a few to everyone, our fries were Extremely salty. Even the kids' meals fries for my little two-year-old brothers' fries were so salty. They put over 5 pounds of salty over the fries. We ordered Mesquite burgers, and one of the Mesquite burgers didn't even have all of the right toppings; it was just a regular burger. I don't know if the cook had an attitude, but you can tell the food was not made with care for the second time. We notify them for the second time that the food was incorrect. We were told that they've already made $70 worth of food, but we paid over $100 for our order. I informed her that the Mesquite burger was missing bacon which is basically the signature typing, and she told me can she bring out a slice of bacon. I was a palled that she was thinking during a pandemic, I would want her to bring me a slice of bacon to put on my sandwich. Instead of just making the sandwich correctly. The fact that she asked me that question was disappointing and unprofessional. They gave me a hard time for 1 sandwich and the 3 fries that they made incorrectly for the second time. This was my worst experience ever. I will not come back to this location. They lost our...
Read moreAs a business owner in Frederick who recently underwent surgery, I was hoping for an easy meal out after a week of recovery. Sonic seemed like the best option, as I can’t sit fully upright yet and needed the ability to eat in the passenger seat, reclined, to relieve the stitches along my waist and testicle area.
Unfortunately, the experience was highly disappointing, particularly regarding restroom accessibility and staff response. The restrooms are located outside, and I used the men’s restroom shortly before beginning my meal. However, midway through, I needed to use it again, only to find it locked. When I asked an employee for access, she explained that the restroom was intended to be public, but due to damage caused by previous customers, it was now accessible only to employees. She informed me that the men’s restroom was also "broken"—even though I had just used it 20 minutes earlier.
I explained that I had a medical emergency and pointed out my Jackson-Pratt drain tube, visibly attached on the outside of my shirt, indicating my serious post-surgical needs. She shrugged off my request and proceeded to unlock the restroom for her own use.
Left with no other option, I rushed (or, more accurately, struggled due to my stitches along my waist and lower area) and ended up vomiting behind the building in distress. Still needing facilities, I approached another employee, explaining my medical urgency and showing documentation. Unfortunately, he dismissed me, and I was forced to return to my vehicle in discomfort.
My caregiver is now driving us home to Baltimore County, but we must make an emergency stop to buy new clothes and attempt to clean myself due to an unfortunate accident in the car. I am particularly concerned about the risk of infection around my stitches. This experience has been incredibly distressing.
I am considering consulting my attorney to discuss options, as I believe this incident demonstrates a lack of understanding by Sonic’s staff of accessibility laws and basic customer rights. I strongly recommend that this location provide training to its employees on relevant health and accessibility regulations to ensure others don’t endure a similar experience.
I called Sonic shortly after leaving and left a voicemail for a callback. I highly suggest...
