Fortunoff Backyard Store — Attraction in Freehold Township

Buyer beware!! We purchased very expensive top of the line melrose dining set with all accessories available as well 2 barcelona sofas with swivel sitting chair, coffee table and end tables, and additional bar top with sitting chairs and several other items. We also purchased additional warranties as a precaution (guardsmen which covers accidental). Spend a fortune, but with the thought that you only buy these items once as they are ‘designed to last a lifetime.’ Within 2 years, we did have an accident that we immediately reported to guardsmen and got an approval for replace. Seems easy enough, however that was back in 2020 and still have not received the replacement. Every time we call, they say it’s approved but given the run around about when or how we would receive the item. Although a frustrating issue, our larger problem is that all the furniture started peeling within 3 years. I purchased all the correct furniture covers from fortunoff for winter months and just when not in use and cared for them very carefully. All issues were reported along with supporting photos. Again given circles on how to get repairs and/or replacements. Fully under warranty and acknowledged by the company but no resolution. I have spoken to mangers, my husband has spoken to mangers, sent out endless emails with no response. I am at a total loss as you purchase from Fortunoff thinking they are the best however they do not stand behind their product nor warranty’s. Complete and utter ripoff. Such a disappointment and now in 2024 will be pursuing consumer fraud against them as we were left with no choice and exhausted every resources within company. On Thursday, June 23rd, I happened to stop at Fortunoff Backyard Store, located on Route 9 North, Freehold Township, New Jersey. My husband and I had been talking about buying a new table and chairs for our outdoor patio. The store was having a Fourth of July sale. I was impressed with their merchandise and the sales woman, Elaine, who patiently answered all of my questions. I told her that I would return later that day with my husband.

When my husband and I arrived, we took our time and perused several different options, sitting on the various chairs and changing up the seat cushions. Also, we discussed which set would serve us better. We finally decided on a lovely 48" round table with 4 chairs from a different table set. We are really happy with our final choice.

I must say that, aside from the excellent design and quality of the outdoor furniture located at Fortunoff Backyard Store, the sales woman and her manager Kyle, played an important role in our final decision. Their patience, knowledge and willingness to work with us all worked together to encourage us to not only complete the sale, but feel confident that we will enjoy our new patio set for many...

My review is two-fold. The sales representative in the store was truly amazing. She helped me through a large purchase of a dining set, umbrella, and couch for my backyard, even in a quarantine. She made sure to help bring all items to the door to keep me safe. However, the delivery men are what changed my review from 5 stars to 3 stars. They came without masks in the middle of a pandemic into my yard around my children and myself. We went inside because both men were coughing and sneezing all over my new furniture. One man wasn't wearing gloves even. They were sweating and wiping their sweat, then touching my furniture. They forgot to put two legs under the table so when they left my table was wobbling and I had to return to the store to obtain two legs to install. They didn't remove the plastic coverings to the underneath side of my large umbrella. They didn't remove the plastic coverings and styrofoam to the covered couch set either. The delivery was the worst part of this review. All in all, the in store staff at Freehold Fortunoff were amazing and knowledgable. However, the delivery crew ruined this...
