THIS REVIEW IS ABOUT THE SALON SERVICES Not only have I been buying makeup here since they opened (their assistant manager is amazing and so knowledgable) she also introduced me to their salon services when I received a bad perm back in September at a different salon in the mall.
She instantly recommended Tristan and I can see why! He is very gifted and knowledgable he asked me questions and filled me in on why he believed my first perm was lacking and he did his magic and fixed it! Just got my top layers retouched 4 days ago after he did my initial perm back in October. What I love about Tristan not only is he knowledgable, he is very kind and talks to you like you have been friends for years and made me feel very comfortable and I've only been in his chair 3 times! With my first visit he instantly booked a haircut 5 weeks after my initial visit and we booked a coloring 3 weeks after that . I personally liked this because it did make me feel Tristan wants to be my stylist (and my ONLY stylist) and he definitely made me a customer for life.
The reason for the 4 has to deal with the booking system and the lack of assistants for the stylists to work with. For instance I arrived and he was still finishing a client and there was no assistant to shampoo me and prep me while he finished his client and it made my appointment longer. With booking you CAN NOT DO IT ONLINE! Tristan has told me he has set days he is at the salon and when you try to book online it doesn't show you the days he is available it just asks you to pick your availability, which to me is just a bad system because a stylist may already have an appointment in the store and can cause a lot of confusion and rescheduling. I don't even trust calling the salon when Tristan isn't there so I just make sure when I get a service with Tristan we automatically make an appointment for a future service. (Seeing him on 2/10/16 for a haircut!)
However, I love my hair and Tristan...
Read moreIt's the holiday season so the store is bustling with activity... and long lines. I waited on a long line with my purchase and a coupon, only to find that my item was on sale, meaning that my coupon would not work. The woman (I presume it was the manager or supervisor) told me that she would keep my items on the side and told me that I would not have to wait on line again once I found another item. When I found something to add to my purchase, I waited on the side, not on line. The woman had stepped away from the registers but saw me and told another girl to take care of me before leaving the counter. Once that girl was done with her current customer, she took the next customer who was on line and ignored me. After that customer left, the girl told me to wait on line, speaking to me as if I was stupid for not waiting on line to begin with. I was told that I would not have to spend any more time waiting and this girl blatantly ignored what her manager had told her. While this might have been caused by miscommunication, the girl was rude in the way she said it and did not even bother to hand me my products or ask as to why I was standing on the side. 2/5 because I know that this does not reflect the entire store, but it certainly put me in a foul mood for the...
Read moreThis review is for the store only. I've been a huge Ulta fan for three years now, ever since I had a mid-life crisis, changed careers, became an esthetician, and started buying every single beauty product I own at Ulta. I've recently started coming to this mall and just this past weekend decided to check this Ulta out with my teenaged sister. I was immediately put off at how it wasn't that busy in there, yet not one person said "hello" or offered to help me. One of them looked right at me and passed me numerous times, and nothing. It astounded me because I felt it was obvious that I didn't know where anything was. Maybe it was because I had my toddler with me? She just pretended she was dusting the store and not to mention that her make-up application was downright scary. I hate to sound this way, but she looked like a tacky vampire, in an attempt to showcase as many products as possible on her face, i guess? When did such an unrealistic look become a thing? I guess I sound naive when I put it that way. Anyway, I didn't rate a 2 because the Benefit girl helped me out, and then this other girl was super nice to my child, and wound up being my cashier- she saved the whole situation. I'll update when I...
