I was browsing the store with my boyfriend, and he was a couple of feet away from me. A worker (who I believe was a possibly an older Hispanic lady who was 30+ years old) came up to him and asked if he needed asistance. He kindly told her that he was okay and pointed to me while saying she might be a better help to me instead. She turned around and asked me if I needed help. She also added in a not very nice voice, "By the way, I noticed your face is SUPER DRY. May I recommend some moisturizers for you?" I promise these were her exact words and I am not exaggerating. I was a bit shocked that she said this, but I politely told her that I was not interested for today. Her words immediately made me feel self-conscious, and I personally believe that my face was not flaky at all or anything? I have also worked in customer service, so I understand that she was trying to convince me to buy some moisturizers; however, her wording was completely unacceptable. Maybe if she said, "I noticed your face is a little dry", that would have been more appropriate, but "SUPER DRY"? It can be quite insulting to many people, and I hope she is grateful I responded back respectfully. On a better note, all the other younger Sephora workers were great! The male worker who greeted us when we entered the store was very nice and genuine, and the female cashier was also extremely sweet! This complaint is solely for that one, older Sephora worker.
Feel free to check out the store cameras and/or listen to the audio because this occured around 6pm yesterday on August 27th. I live 2 hours away from Fremont, and I came to celebrate my 24th birthday with some friends over here. This was my first time coming to this Sephora, and my trip to recieve my Sephora birthday gift while checking out the store on my birthday was definitely not the best experience. I am usually a pretty positive and happy person, but my mood was dampened for the rest of my birthday. Words can have a significant impact on others, and they can be used to build people up or easily tear them down. I feel like for the rest of my life, I am going to have a very hard time forgetting this incident no matter how much I want to get over it. This somewhat traumatizing experience makes me not really want to be much of a Sephora customer anymore, and it is making me want to lead my business elsewhere if your employees are behaving this way to...
Read moreI've been to this location a handful of times since I moved here. It is always busy, the lines take forever and the girls working seem to lack knowledge on their products. My last shipping experience was the worst yet. It was very busy and I had to hunt someone down just to get on a list to be helped. The girl that put my name down was extremely nice and had done good recommendations; however the girl that actually helped me seemed like she really didn't want to help me. I came in looking for a new foundation sample because recently my skin type has changed drastically. first of all I always much to my wrist because I flush easily and have found I get a better match this way. She refused to match to my wrist. after the first product I asked about a second one the other girl had mentioned and she seemed irritated and relictant to do this for me. i never really got to see if the samples match or discuss anything. She just decided for me and handed me the samples. I could tell just by looking that they werent going to match. The colors weren't even similar to each other. I tried both anyways. The first one I looked sunburned and the second was just too dark.. More than anything I'm just irritated about the service. I spend a lot of money here but I'm getting to where I'm sticking to online shopping just because I hate going to...
Read moreI have to commend Jasmine and Kristin on their service today. I've walked into two different Sephoras in the past few weeks and have waited for help for 45+ minutes ultimately deciding to leave without anything. Today I walked into this location hoping the third time would be a charm. Upon entering Jasmine immediately greeted me and asked me if I needed help finding anything. I told her I needed a color match for foundation and concealer. She asked about my skin type and was genuine in giving her opinion in regards to products. She took her time and swatched three different foundations and concealers for me to choose from. We found my perfect match and I could not be more satisfied. I continued to browse around like a kid in a candy store intending to spend some significant money on the highest quality products. Kristen kindly approached me and asked if I needed assistance. She helped me find a primer for my overly sensitive skin and recommended an amazing vegan face wash. When checking out I realized I forgot brush cleaner and eyelash glue. The woman checking me out was sweet enough to grab a few of each item and educated me on the benefits of each product. I'm overjoyed with how I was treated during my shopping spree at Sephora. I will definitely be returning to this location. The staff are phenomenal and I cannot thank...
