The last time I came here was about 15 years ago. It looks waaaaay different compared to now. The theme inside is a charcoal Grey, with a large screen through the lobby, arcade, photo booth. Of course any movie theater all foods are overly priced. They sell 🍕 🥨, 🍟, 🍬, 🍿, and a few others. Yes they also sell sometimes the movie themed merchandise. The 4dx is exactly the same as the 🇵🇭 Philippines 4dx. Now the screen quality isn't the same as galaxy theaters Dolby atmos laser projection. The iMax screens are large but not that much larger compared to galaxy theaters. The galaxy theaters have brighter projection so you see thr colors much brighter more vivid and quality overall is high even in deeper blacks. Galaxy theater food is a bit cheaper but always don't have the merchandise.
As for seating I only have tried the 4dx seats and don't remember if they are leather but where somewhat comfy.
When I go there again coming from Tulare county I'll try thr regular screening non 4dx adventure I'll be giving another review as update:
Hotdog was okay nothing great. If they upgraded to the sirloin full beef hotdog that would crazy good including g a pretzel 🥨 🍞 for thr hotdog. You can get your own condiments on the side of the conssssion stand. They are in packets and not served for you like galaxy theaters. You can also add your own butter near the condiments.
The loaded fries comes with nacho cheese and bacon just a few pieces. Fried quantity isn't something. To be happy about. Wasn't much fries to begin with and the price is 10... Yes 10 is bs for the price so don't get it. They offer seasoned for a extra price of a few dollars more still not worth it. Maybe if they gave double fries it would be worth it. Galaxy gives waaaaay more fries for 8. But not loaded unless you ask for the cheese and chili which they give you one of each for free and after that it's 2 per small container. Soda same as any other place. Pepsi has many options and they only have a few selections at iMax. Even tho I believe this place is spinceted by Pepsi.
I hope they bring a iMax to Tulare county cause I don't want to drive 1 hour just to go to the iMax movies. There is a regal here but their so outdated. Last time I went was 10+ years ago with those old seats.
My ranking I gave them was the food quantity and pricing. Give better quantity and selection of other foods. Just one hotdog is boring, small amount of fries etc. As of not galaxy does it better with almost every thing except 4dx. The offered it long time ago in my area but...
Read moreThis "remodeling" is an extreme downgrade in all respects. Me and my wife booked two tickets for Dune 2, at their new "IMAX" theater. It's in quotations because this IMAX screening was nothing like the old experience that used to be readily available a short distance from the Edward's theater. The surround sound has been supremely diminished. Previously rows of speakers contributed to make a truly surround sound experience while in theater. Now, it just sounds like they lazily put up a few speakers on the wall and boosted the gain to the point where the speakers start to sound like they will explode. The theater built for this newly built IMAX theater doesn't have the same architectural elements that made the sound so specia. In the original IMAX theater that was separate from Edward's, the theater was literally shaped for sound as if you were attending a stage performance. The interior of the old max seemed curved perfectly for nice balanced acoustics. This is obviously lacking in the new IMAX theater.
In addition, the old Edward's theater had personality. The style of the building itself was created to match the personalities of the other buildings in riverpark. It had a French/Greek villa style, something along those lines, and it was painted with colors to match the other buildings of riverpark. Now, they spray painted it black. The paint is already deteriorating and one can wonder why such a paint job was even done in the first place. The wonderful Edward's cinema sign that rested on the top of the building above the entry doors has been removed, and replace with an awkwardly positioned regal sign. It is clear that this remodeling was done with a general lack of intention or artistic ability. There seems to be no direction, and the theater is devoid of personality. It is a similar plague of lack of artistic intent that wreaks much of modern "futuristic/minimal" design. When you walked in the lobby of Edward's beautiful murals lined the walls, everything inside was meant meant pull you into the arts and sell you on a theatrical movie watching experience. Ultimately this remodeling leaves me with an intense...
Read moreI purchased two tickets for my 17 year old daughter and her friend of the same age. I bought these tickets online. They wanted to see a scar rated R movie. Upon the purchase of these tickets I read the rules on the rated R under age purchases. Per the online rules "no one under the age of 18 will be allowed to purchase tickets without parental approval". Being that I approved her to watch the movie and had permission for her friend to also watch it I purchased the tickets.
When dropping both girls off at the theater I escorted them to the door. The ticket takes said they were clear to enter the theater. I left. 20 minutes later my daughter calls me saying "they carded us at our seats and escorted us into the lobby". Being that I was now an hour away from the theater I asked to speak over the phone to the security personel that yanked them out. On the phone I explained the processes we went through before i left the theater. He said he couldn't allow them back in without me physically attending the movie with them.
I turn my car around to get my refund and pick up my child to then get a call from my daughter saying a group of 21 year old men allowed them to join their party. The security personnel I spoke to allowed this. I went back to the theater to claim my daughter. When I asked the employees to explain how my physical conversation and my phone conversation was not enough for concent but allowing two 17 year old girls to be escorted to the same movie by a group of over aged men who were strangers was enough is totally not acceptable. They were rude and completely disrespectful.
In the end the treatment of escorting them out of the theater causing public embarrassment then allowing them to be escorted back into the same movie by strangers seems quite unprofessional.
The same policies should be on your ticket internet site and to all employees to follow through. You should also be more cautious with your acceptance of stranger dangers. It was a frustrating and angry night by far the worst treatment of any theater I have...
