Where do I start? My daughter was having surgery across the street at Kiaser Hospital. I wanted to be close by. I walked in, and the lobby seemed nice. Lots of private both for meetings. The front desk clerk told me it was $300 a night!! Of course, I expected beautiful rooms, a nice soak tub, comfortable beds, etc. I have traveled all around this country for work. I have had excellent rooms and great service for MUCH less! I asked if they had working TV's and wi-fi. "Oh Yes". Fine. I'll take a room. Anyway, no help with my luggage after 3 trips to my car, and I was on the 3rd floor. The VERY first thing I noticed was the air/fan wasn't working. The flat-screen TV was NOT working and there was NO microwave! The beds had a sheet and a very thin cheap blanket. There were 2 very thin pillows. Thank God I brought my own comforter and pillow. I called immediately to report all the problems. However, the phone didn't work either!!! Was I being PUNKED? So I used my cell phone to call the front desk. Then Frank, the maintenance guy comes up to my room. Worked on the TV for awhile. Yeah, it's not working! How about the phone? Looks like it"s broken too! What about the blankets? Oh, they are in the closet. No ..... there is just one thin worn out pillow in here! I asked if I had to bring my food, I brought from home, to downstairs to microwave it? Frank said, NO worries, I'll bring you a microwave. He didn't tell me that it was an additional $19 charge. Plus, the continental breakfast was also an additional $11.00. OMG!!! What next? So I went down to the gym. They were out of water. I decided to go back up and just take a nice soak in the tub. What??? You are joking? NO TUB!!! Just a half shower with a slippery floor and no shower mat. I had, had it!! I went down to the front desk with my list of complaints. I asked for the manager. He proceeded to explain that they were planning a remodel in 2 years! Oh, great!! They offered me a free breakfast. However, it was only from 7AM to 9AM. I missed it. He had an excuse for everything. Like I must had the room with problems that no one EVER complained about before. The best he could do was offer me half price. But I still had to pay for using g the microwave. Then I heard that there was a homeless camp within yards of the hotel. Which is also located right next to the Hwy. 41. I also read that cars have been broken into and even stolen from their parking lot. How about hiring SECURITY. Although that would have been a nice surprise if my car was stolen. It was fully insured. After reading other reviews, I was not te only one who had a bad experience there. You would think a name like me HYATT would offer much better rooms and make sure everything was in working order. I may have stayed at a Motel 6 and probably had a better experience for...
Read morePlease read before staying - This review comes with a pretty heavy heart. This Hyatt is my go to location since my entire family lives in the Madera/Fresno area.
But this stay might have been out last. From break ins and stolen firearms. To horrible night time services.
I paid for two rooms for two nights, one for me and 6 year old and one for my parents. Friday night was the start of a horrible weekend. I registered one of the rooms under my mother's name - turns out the front desk needed me to call in for my parents to get their key.
Security measures I understand so I asked my mother to place me on speaker and I asked the attendant if I needed to call the globalist line or thr front desk. At which point he told me I had to call him on the front desk. As I navigate traffic, rain and keeping my daughter safe on the road.
But hey things happen - he let's my parents check in after stating "what should be done" in a very irritated voice. Which was a bit shocking but hey maybe it was a rough night.
I got the hotel a couple hours after my parents - I sent Mt father a $100.00 hyatt gift card @ which the same night attendant let my parents know "This hyatt doesn't except" Hyatt giftcards.
Onto of this - my parents are charged for two waters to tale to their room. Problem is I booked the room as a globalist and that's complementary.
Oh well - like I said before it could be a rough night. We woke up to a broken car window the next morning. Apparently the break ins have been pretty much one a day ... and no security yet???
The hard part is that I love the day time service but the night time service members are God awful.
From 45min break with 25+ guest in the lobby to the two employees coming back from their break smelling like a prop 215 420 friendly break.
No towels in the pool area and neighbors screaming all night long. Not to mention broken phones in the room.... which is a complete illegal violation. California regs would have a field day here.
I called the front desk for my cell and stood on hold for over 20minuets to report the horrible guest next door. This stay was bad, like if I had to stay at a motel six in south Las Vegas or here again. Ide take my chances with LV.
I hope this hyatt returns back to its former glory of services but until then my review is 1 star.
I wish I could counter out the bad with good service of the morning crew - but this was really...
Read moreUpdate: I’ve been ghosted twice.
Short story: Most of the problems were within less than 24 hours… Save yourself the headache especially when you arrive late at night after working all day and flying in for a work conference. Hotel would not honor my confirmed stay reservation, told me that it was “not be their fault” it must be me, ghosted me when I was asking for resolution (via phone call, in person and via email), and I repeatedly had to get a new key each night for the room since it was deactivated every evening…
Long story: I came for a work conference and was busy all day every day and had so much drama to deal with this hotel.
On January 25th, I booked my stay with Hyatt for my company conference. Check in February 24 - February 27 check out.
Upon arriving February 24 @ 11pm, after working all day then flying, I was told there were no reservations despite providing evidence. It being late, I simply paid out of pocket and let them know I will fix this at the end of my stay and the end of conference.
February 25, I was then told that I was to have checked out at 12pm via text and they would be “happy to bring my things out of the room”. After calling to resolve, we were put on hold for more than 30-45mins, to which I had to find a ride to arrive to the hotel to address this in person. Despite providing the screenshot again, I was told that they did not have records. I should not be held responsible for an error in the system, yet was told I would be charged additionally. Furthermore, my concern continuing to rise, not knowing if my belongings were removed from my room and possibility of lost items. Additionally, overhead while waiting in the lobby for an Uber, various guests were told that they didn’t have a reservation.
February 25 at 5:00pm, arriving back at the hotel after a long day of conference, I arrive at my room to find my card had been deactivated. The hotel card had been in the envelope, in a separate pocket, away from any cards nor phone, nor magnet since receiving it at 11pm the night before.
February 26 at 5:00pm, guess who is locked out of their room again?
I am very displeased with this service, lack of problem resolution, and feel it appropriate to provide compensation...
