I’ll start by saying that we stayed here because we had water damage in our home and it was not livable. We ended up staying here for 3 weeks total, but I was trying to find somewhere else to stay basically after the first night. We were there for 3 weeks simply because no other place had room with a kitchenette available within 20 miles.

ROOMS: First impression of the rooms are that they are clean and spacious. Upon further inspection, however, you’ll find that some serious deep cleaning needs to be done in many areas. Drips and stains down the walls, dirt and grime under cabinet edges, grime in shower corners, around the bathroom sink, etc. They also desperately need to either get the floors professionally cleaned, or replace the carpeting all together. Our feet were black every night from walking on the floors it was so dirty, so we tried to wear socks at all times then take them off for bedtime. Pretty gross. There’s a large window in the room with a shade that makes it seem like you’re facing outside, which is nice during the day, but at night there is no blackout shade and the lights in hallways are left on, so it’s very bright in the room. We ended up trying to use blankets to cover the window because it was so bright. They really should have blackout shades on those windows. The shower is really spacious and nice, except the water only gets hot 50% of the time. I took countless Luke warm/cold showers after waiting for minutes for it to warm up, and it never did. Sometimes it got hot, but it was very inconsistent. The beds were not firm enough and made loud squeaking noises like a blowup mattress under them. They sunk in the middle and were uncomfortable.

BREAKFAST If you’re thinking that free breakfast is a perk of staying here, don’t get your hopes up. Virtually the same thing is served every day and it’s powdered eggs, microwaved breakfast meats and microwaved breakfast potatoes. They did have some bread items and cereal and coffee as well.

CUSTOMER SERVICE They had fairly decent customer service, except I did receive a snarky comment about how many key cards we had for the room. We had two small children with us and it was easy to misplace them so we had to ask for new ones every once in a while. One employee thought they would remind me how many we had open with our room, which was rude because obviously I needed another card if I was asking for one. They seemed consistent understaffed up front as I waited as long as 20 minutes to receive new towels while waiting at the front desk. That was another thing that we didn’t like, we had to bring our own towels to the front desk to get clean ones, and they often times didn’t have any clean ones available, said they were low on towels. I don’t understand how a hotel can be low on towels, that’s unacceptable to me.

HOUSE KEEPING We had an issue with house keeping service as well. Due to Covid they were supposed to come once a week. We requested many times that they come on a specific day when we knew we would be gone and they never did. This resulted in getting zero house keeping for over a week and a half.

LOCATION If you’re from out of town, please be aware that this part of Fridley/Columbia Heights is NOT a good or family friendly location at all. We purposely avoided going to our cars in the parking lot at night because of the drug use happening around the building. While we were packing up to leave in the middle of the day, a girl walked by us and sat down right outside the door and started smoking crack! Right with our kids around. I saw a clear water bottle full of pee laying in the parking spot next to my car one morning. You can regularly see hookers coming and going from the hotel as well. Terrible area, they should really have cops parked in the parking lot at all times.

For the money, if you’re looking to stay for a night or two, you get what you pay for. I would not recommended this place to anyone unless you have no other choice.
