Went to this fest for the first time and it was OK. It was pretty crowded and the lines were super long for everything, especially the rides. I expected the attractions to be free but they weren’t, you had to buy tickets and use them for the rides. Lines for the ride were probably an hour long! Lots of food and treat options and they did not all have ridiculous lines. The fireworks didn’t start until about 10:20pm but it was pretty good. Parked at the discovery center and took the shuttle to the square but left before the fireworks started and watched it from the grassy area near the highway. Prices were not listed by vendor -- 2 regular corndogs, 2 regular lemonades, and one funnel cake was over $64!!!! We were so shocked and upset we didn't have the ability to refuse the food or to not pay.

Cons - Could take you 2-3 hours to come out of the place. Can be a nightmare. Have your gas tank filled. The fireworks is partly blocked by the national soccer museum and trees for people sitting in simpson plaza. Also, the place is too bright to appreciate the fireworks in the night backdrop.
