You would think for $116, your food would be semi authentic and arrive in a timely manner. You’d think they would lean into authenticity, however, it feels more like its pushed away. This is the most Chinese-American “Japanese” restaurant Ive been to. Deep-fried gyoza, no option for steamed, our meals looked like take-out. Saki selection was small with a huge up-charge. We get more for less from Sushi Sake in Richardson, including sea bass & hot towels …. Our meal tonight (which we know Cisco when we taste it) cost $30 more than Sushi Sake would have charged (and we got so much less!!!)… I came into this restaurant thinking “even if it is like a 4 star experience, I’ll give them 5. The staff is nice and I would like them to get more business” unfortunately, the experience just was not up to par…

Just tried this place after a recommendation came from find me gluten free! Celiac safe sushi rolls and at a great price! The staff was kind and conversational, food was great, atmosphere was relaxing! An overall great experience! Talked with Nick and he was a delight! Fun guy! Will definitely be back here for future girls night outs and date nights! When I walked outside the whole street was beautifully light up! It made the whole experience even better! Great vibes in this area this time of year!

Came here for my nieces 16th birthday dinner and had a lovely experience. Not only was the food high-quality and delicious but, the staff was attentive and friendly. Also, the ambience was really nice with beautiful piano music. I can’t speak to how loud it gets when the restaurant is full since it was only at maybe 25% capacity. We ordered both sushi items, the chicken teriyaki and Bulgogi – all amazing. I highly recommend Sake Toro Sushi. Thank you to Helen and the rest of the awesome staff!

I went to this place by myself as usual. I usually go during the day but one night after work I was craving sushi so thinking the experience would be the same, it was not. Literally night and day. I gave it two stars because the food is good. The service? Unfortunately wasn’t anything like I’ve ever experienced. I came in first, wasnt even acknowledged. Then another guy (white) came in and we instantly received a hello. She said to me we have to clean a table for u, remind u I called prior to see if a table was available as they told me there was. I let that go. Then she tells the guy, sorry we don’t have a space at the bar but I can put u at a vip table until we have an opening and proceeds to take him to the back. Again, didn’t think anything of it until the table they gave me was all the way in the back corner next to the register. I still proceed to sit down because it’s sushi I want. After sitting I order a drink, it took ten minutes to receive. She sat my drink down and walked away. Remind u I was ready to order. After 5 mins I waived a waiter down and stated I was ready to order. Finally ordered and another 20mins to receive one item and another 10 to receive the other. I ordered a lot of spicy food. Fried calamari & a happy ending. I had to request a water fill 3 times. No one came to me in my entire sitting asking if I needed anything. I paid my tab and left. After working 60/hrs that week I wanted to enjoy myself. Unfortunately I was not able to so I just went home. I didn’t want to encounter anyone else that night. Just my experience . Hope u have a better experience then I did. I’m also a social media influencer and after initially advising all of my followers to check it out, I had to give an update and many was not please. Well that’s it. Enjoy...

My most recent experience here was fantastic. I went on a Tuesday night feeling skeptical about how things may be considering the day of the week, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've been here before but my most recent visit was the best one.

I like that their rolls weren't overdressed with sauces and all of them had their distinct flavor profiles. They didn't take away from the flavors of the fish itself.

I ordered the following:

Dragon Roll (5 stars): Highly recommend if you like dragon rolls. The balance of eel and avocado was excellent. It was a good size and flavorful. I like that it was the same size as their special rolls.

Sexy Jerry (Special Roll - 5 stars): Highly recommend. A favorite.

Anaconda (Special - 4 stars): A good roll. It's different. It's topped with fried crispy onions.

Rolls Royce (Special - 4 Stars): Also different. It was topped with fresh cilantro. It was like a sushi palate cleanser.

Oreo Tempura with Ice cream (3.5 stars): A good dessert. It was $5.50, discounted because it was Tuesday. Good value.

Yuzu Cheesecake (3 stars): It was a basic cheesecake. It was half the size of a cheesecake slice that can be found at grocery stores or the Cheesecake Factory. But it was also $3, discounted because it was Tuesday. It was good for one person. If you like yuzu (a citrus fruit) and cheesecake, you may like it. If I had to choose between this and the Oreo Tempura with Ice cream, I'd go with the Oreo Tempura...

Really cute place and the sushi was great! That being said, this place is SO expensive for the ridiculously small portions that you get, and service left so much to be desired.

I want to start by saying that $7 for two pieces of nigiri should be criminal. That is blatant highway robbery. Regardless… it was very good. Not as fresh as I wish it would have been for seven dollars, but good regardless. They also didn’t have any maki rolls listed on the menu which was very disappointing.

The food and the cocktails were VERY good!

The service here was on the disappointing side. The hostess looked annoyed to see us come in, and she didn’t even bother looking up at us from her phone on the way out. There were three of us and she only gave us two menus. We were told that it was “all hands on deck,” but only one gentleman that consistently took care of us… Nobody was particularly friendly, and for the atmosphere and prices we experienced, we were left disappointed by the service that followed.

Overall, I think I would come back in the future for a small lunch or for a cocktail. The food is very delicious, there’s more on the menu I’d like to try, and it is very close to my apartment! However, I find it so hard to justify the prices. I can get SO much more food for so much less down the street (Yama), and quite frankly…....
