I imagine this review will be a waste of time considering if you look through previous poor reviews the owner either dismisses your feed back or somehow "can't find any record of your visit" but here goes nothing. The staff clearly learned from ownership and exhibited poor customer service throughout our visit (except for our awesome waitress who hopefully after tonight realized her worth and gave her notice). The hostess was busy on her phone when we walked in and continued to be through the visit. We got there at 9:10 and were told there was plenty of time to order food as the kitchen didn't close until 10. We ordered our son's food and an app that came out great, honestly-no complaints there except the chili sauce that came with the calamari which seems more like an Asian cuisine thing rather than Cajun but whatever. We then ordered our food at about 9:50, it took the server awhile to get back to us and we heard her telling the bartender/Manager that she had 10 (TEN) tables by herself just 3 days out of training. The rest of the staff we saw just seemed to be hanging out as she ran around like crazy so we thought that was kind of odd immediately. She came back at 10:04 saying that the kitchen refused to make our food because they closed at 10 even though we watched her ring in the food on the POS immediately after leaving our table. When speaking to the manager his excuse was that they usually aren't that busy on Thursdays and he went on with the excuses from there (him only being there a few weeks, he doesn't have control over the back of house, nobody showed up for work, the hostess couldn't help serve drinks because of TABC rules (not even soda/water?), etc.) He told us he would comp our food as compensation which was fair but when the server came back he had only  taken 25% ($6) off. My husband questioned this to which he responded "I don't have control at night like they do during the day." My husband and I who have been in food service for well over 25+ years combined questioned that and suddenly he had the ability to comp our food-nothing quite like lies to go along with poor customer service I guess. Regardless,  I still don't understand not feeding a table already seated well before the cutoff time. We tipped the server and left, definitely won't be back simply due to poor customer service (which seems common for this...

I'm giving this 2 stars because it's got lots of TVs to watch sports games and a great location, but the host/weekend manager is terrible (as others have mentioned, long grey hair). My husband and I went a month ago to watch the Texans game and asked the host where we could sit to see that game. His words were "I will seat you and you can talk with the waitress about the games. That's not my job." We were annoyed because he placed us at the bar with our backs to the one TV with the Texans playing. The TVs at the bar were playing the Saints and, understandably as it's a Cajun restaurant, we aren't going to ask all the Saints fans to change the main screen. We had to watch the game turned around. The entire time we were there, we watched the host be loudly rude to other guests trying to come and watch a game. I personally saw 2-3 people walk out because of it. If you tout yourself as a sports watching restaurant, you shouldn't be angry when people ask for a spot to watch their sports - especially when the restaurant isn't full. Anyway, we thought this might be a fluke so we went back a week later asking to watch the Astros as part of the playoffs. Same host gave the same statement of "I'll seat you and you can talk with the waitress about the TV, okay?" I told him that wasn't really okay because we want to make sure we see the game. The host actually leaned down over me and said "That was rhetorical. I will seat you and your waitress will deal with the TV." I told him he was rude and he feigned surprise. Because of his behavior, and the fact that we couldn't get a waiter to stop for service a few minutes in, we decided to leave and go to the Londoner just next door and had a lovely time watching the game. I get a bad day, but this host is incredibly rude and should not be in customer service.

EDIT: I appreciate the quick response from the owner on here, but it seems to just be paying lip-service. Look through the recent reviews and you'll find several references to the same poor experience from the same host over many months with the owner responding that they'll talk to him or they'll strive to do better. Seems odd that the owner is okay with this person remaining as the first point of contact patrons will have when dining here. Not saying the guy shouldn't work there, but definitely should not...

🔥 The Green Gator in Frisco, TX – A Must-Visit Hidden Gem! 🔥

Let me start by saying—WOW. The Green Gator isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a full-on experience. From the second you walk in, the vibe is electric—live music, killer cocktails, and a menu that makes you want to order everything.

The Food? Next-level good. The Cajun flavors hit just right—spicy, savory, and packed with soul. The Gator Bites? Crispy, tender, and way better than you’d expect (yes, it’s real gator, and yes, you need to try it). The Crawfish Étouffée? Creamy, rich, and loaded with flavor—like something straight out of New Orleans. And don’t even get me started on the Po’ Boys… stuffed to the brim and messy in the best way.

Drinks? They don’t play around. The Hurricane will sneak up on you (in the best way), and their frozen cocktails are the perfect balance of strong and refreshing.

But what really sets The Green Gator apart? The energy. Whether it’s a packed weekend night with live blues or a chill afternoon on the patio, this place feels alive. The staff? Absolute legends—friendly, quick, and they make you feel like family.

If you’re in Frisco and don’t hit up The Green Gator, you’re doing yourself a major disservice. This spot is legit—great food, great drinks, and a damn good time. 10/10, no notes. Just go.

📍 The Green Gator – Frisco, TX 🚀 Pro Tip: Get there early on weekends—this place fills up for a reason.

To say the food is mediocre at best may be a stretch. Ordered crawfish and was told they are some of the best around in both size and flavor. Ordered two pounds and was hugely disappointed. The crawfish were micro sized, and given its early season I didn’t expect them to be huge but these were too small to really even be served. They had no visible or taste-able seasoning on them at all. We had to ask for a side of seasoning just to give them any flavor. Given this is a Cajun restaurant we had much higher expectations. Especially given their prices were on the upper end for crawfish. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich and although the taste was solid, the amount of chicken on it was embarrassing. the chicken fillet was so unbelievably thin I had to go to the truck to grab my measuring tape cause I couldn’t believe it. It was literally thinner than an 1/8th of an inch. For comparison, I put up 2 quarters next to it and the patty was almost exactly the same thickness as two stacked quarters. With that being said, I gave two stars instead of one because when we finally did get service (waited over 10 mins before someone came to see us and there were only 3 other patrons there at the time) the server was friendly. Overall very disappointed as this is close to home and would have been nice to atleast get what we paid for.

I have eaten here quite a few times since moving to the area. This experience was disappointing with the service. I ordered on Uber Eat back in November (less than 2 months ago) and received a message back from the restaurant advising they offer curbside pickup when ordering directly from their website. I remembered this tonight and placed a curbside order online. The website requested my vehicle information, which I provided. When I arrived and parked in the reserve space at the entrance, we called after a few minutes and was informed that we could come in to get the order since they do not bring it to the vehicle. Given that it was a cold night, I would've prepared differently. In addition, while it was a small tip of $4 or $5, I added it to the order under the impression that an employee would be coming out in the cold to bring the order. In relation to the food itself, the fried crab fingers and pasta Monica (combo) were good. The kid's popcorn shrimp were plentiful, but the fries were lacking in taste and quantity. We ordered cajun fries, but these were not seasoned as usual and were soggy. I have never had an issue with the food, including the fries, in prior deliveries or while dining in. My last delivery order was rated 5 stars within the app.

The Green Gator in Frisco is always a vibe! It’s a true sports bar, with TVs all around playing live games—perfect for sports lovers. On my most recent visit, I wanted something light and relaxing, and this spot delivered exactly that. I sat on the patio, and the breeze felt amazing—peaceful and exactly what I needed to clear my mind. I ordered the calamari, which was beautifully fried and so flavorful, and also had the chicken pasta, which was equally tasty. Great food and atmosphere all around. Now let’s talk about the staff—Hector was phenomenal, even though he’s a Cowboys fan (I’ll forgive him for that one day 😂). My waiter, Ryan, was prompt, kind, and accommodating, despite clearly being busy. He made sure I had everything I needed, so of course, I tipped him well! The hostess, Stacy, was also sweet and welcoming. Honestly, those genuine interactions meant the world to me, especially as I’ve been dealing with a new and overwhelming life change. This place is more than just a bar—it’s comforting, it’s friendly, and it’s fun, especially if you’re a Saints fan (most of the staff are, which I love). So come football season? You’ll definitely find me here. I even left a review from my other page because they’re just that good. Highly recommend!
