I had my daughter's 4th birthday party here about a week and a half ago. The employees at the place are beyond nice. But the owner is rude and lied through her teeth.
The sweet employees informed us that we can come an hour before my daughter's schedule party time to set up and decorate how we wished. I called a few days prior to the party day to see if we can come 1.5 hours early and the owner stated that we can come only 15 min before the party time. 15 min? Seriously? How is the sufficient time to decorate for a party. On top of that her employees told us otherwise when we booked. After a lot of back and forth, the owner said she had a huge party coming that day and only an hour prior to our reserved party time was ok. Funny because online showed that we were the only party scheduled for that date.
Fast forward to my daughter's party date. My husband and I arrived an hour before and there was NO customers there. No big party like the owner supposedly said. Unbelievable.
Fast forward to a week after my daughter's party. I went to pick up all the pottery pieced except one since one since my friend told me she was going to pick up her daughters from Make Expression since she was in the area. I picked up the rest and notified the employee that one of the moms from the party will pick up her daughter's. The employee said that was completely fine and set that piece aside.
I just got a call from my friend who notified me that she went to go pick up her daughter's pottery piece and they told her that she couldn't because the host has to pick it up. SERIOUSLY? The employee never said a single thing when I told her that I leaving one pottery piece behind.
Avoid this place at all cost. The owner is seriously unprofessional and straight up lied to us. On top of that, now I have to drive all the way back to pick up one pottery piece that I was told I could leave there for my...
Read moreI came here for my friends birthday party. I purchased 3 Groupons for the 16x20 stretch canvas, one solo, and a two person Groupon. We saw once we arrived that they also had candle making, mosaic making and ceramic painting. My friend (the birthday girl) fell in love with a ceramic and wanted to paint that instead so I quickly refunded the solo Groupon on the Groupon app and my sister and I continued with our canvases. All the materials passed out were cheap, used, brushes very cheap paints, and a crowded work area not accommodating our 5 person group. When we were done and went to checkout I pointed out that I had the Groupon and had the lady with the bangs redeem it. I was dismissed and told no, that in fact it was actually just a $10 off coupon instead of the $48 I spent on two of them, then charged again $65 in store. First she was wrong, but also I was appalled that for two cheap canvases, some old used cheap raggedy paintbrushes, and some basically generic crayola washable paints it would have been $75 in total regular price - That’s a huge rip-off. I knew this felt wrong. I knew I paid for it already, went home, double checked my account later and when I emailed the owner with screenshots of my bank charges and the Groupon charge I was treated as if I was lying. Even after I gave her the Groupon order number of the two person Groupon I was double charged for, she went so far as to investigate to find the third Groupon that I refunded earlier that day we went to try to “disprove” me. That’s very poor customer service. It took every patient bone in my body to write out for a third time an explanation of the problem to her and finally received a refund but one I had to drive another hour...
Read moreThis was our first time here as a family of 3. We walk in and we were asked if we were there to paint or pick up. We said paint and they said you can sit anywhere. So we sit down and no direction was given to us at all. Luckily I had done this before with work (different place) so I told my spouse and son to get up and pick a piece of pottery to paint. We assumed we had to grab our own paint since none was brought to us and I had to ask twice for water and paint brushes. There was limited selection and very pricey for such small pieces.
Fast forward to a week later which I received a text that our pottery was ready from being placed in a kiln and fired. We were so excited. One of the items created was for a birthday gift. So I go to pick up the pieces and they ask me to check the bag to make sure everything came out ok. 3 of the 4 pieces were correct. The 4th one didn't even belong to us. When I asked for the missing piece (which was for the birthday gift) she went to look for it and said it hadn't been done yet. I said how does that happen if they were all together. Her response was "I don't run the kiln". That's it! No I'm sorry or we should've checked everything before calling you - nothing. I said so now what? She says you'll have to wait another 7-10 days. I was so upset I just walked out.
After I pick up this piece we will...
