Went here today for the first time. Their AD came up on my Facebook on several occasions and we wanted to try it out for a while. So we finally thought we'd give them a try today. We went there for their dinner buffet on this Mother's Day. The food was great and the waiting staff was really good as well. Our waiter (Sai Kumar) was very attentive to our table and every time we had 1 plate that was done with, he would take it away very promptly. On a few occasions when I would discard our trash (to make it easier for them), he, with a smile, would persist that we are his guests and that they are the ones that should take care of the trash. For dessert, they had 5 choices, and the main buffet stands was divided into a vegetarian side and a non-vegetarian side, with the condiments in between. They had a complete pani-poori stand with a staff member filing the pani-poori with the bhaji, as well as a dosa/masala dosa stand and an appam stand, that have staff cooking them on a made to order basis. They also have Mango Lassi and Tea (with milk) available in dispensers. We really liked the food and the variety of choices available. My kids loved the food too (especially the Mango Lassi). They ate so well that, after eating they didn't have room for ice cream. Chennai-Café was really busy today and was probably packed at 100% capacity, and whether it be the food in the buffet table being revolted properly, the empty plates available to use, or the waiters removing the used plates from your table, they seemed to have everything under control. We were very happy with the experience we had even after driving 30 minutes to get there. If you plan to go for a dinner buffet, I suggest you reach there at 6 pm (when they re-open for dinner) to get better parking and because you can also beat the rush of people, because they will be very full. We'll definitely be back. I would normally give a review like this 5 STARS, but it was really hot in the restaurant, and it seemed that the AC was off, so, to maintain honesty and integrity on my reviews, I need to take away 1 star. ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 4...
Read moreOur culinary journey led us to Chennai Cafe, a South Indian restaurant offering a tantalizing lunch buffet. The extensive spread featured a variety of veg and non-veg options, creating a delightful dilemma of choices.
Personally savoring the Malabar Chicken Biryani and the Chennai-style Chicken 65, both dishes left a lasting impression with their rich flavors. Despite not sampling every item, each dish that crossed our palate was met with a unanimous verdict of yumminess, devoid of any negative remarks.
The live Appam and Dosa stations added an interactive touch to the dining experience, though patience was required due to the queues. For the little ones, a thoughtful array of items such as popcorn, veg rolls, and chips Fry kept them happily occupied. Surprisingly, the kids' veg roll became a household favorite, prompting us to bring a couple of extra pieces home for later enjoyment.
To round off the feast, the inclusion of tea brought satisfaction to my spouse, a tea enthusiast. A standout highlight was the live Appam, served with coconut milk, creating a memorable blend of flavors.
In addition to the culinary delights, Chennai Cafe's ambiance further heightened the dining experience. The spacious dining area and classical Tamil cultural design, featuring pictures and paintings, created an aesthetically pleasing setting. The infusion of traditional elements added to the overall charm, making it not just a meal but a cultural immersion.
What stood out was the diverse clientele; the restaurant's appeal extended beyond Indian patrons. The presence of many non-Indians highlighted the universal appreciation for Chennai Cafe's menu. It's a testament to the restaurant's ability to attract and satisfy taste buds from various cultural backgrounds, showcasing the universal appeal of South Indian cuisine.
In conclusion, Chennai Cafe's lunch buffet not only catered to diverse tastes with its array of dishes but also incorporated thoughtful touches like live cooking stations and a dedicated selection for kids. A truly satisfying experience for both the adventurous and...
Read moreYou can see how busy the place is in the pic. There are empty tables available and we were only 4 people in total.. my wife and me already there on 10/7/2023 at around 1.15-1.20pm. Other 2 were 15-20mins away. We requested the front desk if you could accommodate 2 of us as we were very hungry and other 2 will eventually come in 15mins which they did come early than 15mins. We can understand if there were no tables available but it was not the case on that day. And your policy of accommodating guests at table only when all guests are there makes sense to apply if the party is big. If you could not even accommodate 2-4 people when there are empty tables available then I dont know how great of a hospitality is this!!!
Take an example: Just think of any other restaurant applies the same rule to your relatives/sis/bro/parents who arrive at the restaurant very hungry and there are empty tables available but are made to wait till you arrived, may be in about 20-30mins and there are still empty tables available.. How would you feel? And what would you do in this situation? Will you be SATISFIED at the end of the lunch/dinner?
My answer: I WOULD NOT
P.S. - A customer centric restaurant business would find a solution for case by case scenarios, rather than dictating rules as an excuse.

I change my review from 5 stars to 1. They make people wait even though there are tables available. Say that everyone should be there to get table. What kind of mindset is this. This place is becoming worst treating customers day by day. WORST EXPERIENCE!!!
