I placed a Door Dash order for pickup today, went in myself to retrieve it. The restaurant itself is clean, not much too look at. Just a run of the mill Chinese-American fast casual joint in the middle of a plaza. Menu's pretty impressive for a small-medium sized place like this - they've got chicken, beef, tofu, and seafood like one would expect but they've also got lamb.

Customer service was efficient but a not so friendly, there wasn't a rush or anything, but the person at the counter seemed off 0 maybe it was a bad day and they weren't disrespectful, so it wasn't much of an issue. There really isn't an atmosphere here, it's just 'we're a restaurant, eat and go buddy' kinda deal.

Food was overall passable but mediocre. We got orange chicken, sesame chicken, and two veggie spring rolls - just the usual stuff you'd get in takeout. The food was packaged well and presentation was good. Everything was hot and ready when I came in to pick up. The two entrees came with fried rice instead of the usual white rice, which was a nice bonus.

The veggie spring rolls: you get two in an order, priced decently. Hot and crispy, somewhat fresh tasting, but likely frozen. The veggies inside were what you'd expect but not flavorful in the least. Sure, it's crunchy and meant to be dipped in sauces but it'd be nice to have some semblance of flavor in them.

Sesame chicken was decent at best, an easy 6/10. Not packing a lot of flavor and the meat inside was overcooked.

The orange chicken was more of a 5/10. The sauce on it wasn't very flavorful, the most that indicated that this was orange chicken were the toppings of burnt orange peels (it is an actual topping btw). The chicken was overcooked as well.

We ate this immediately after pickup and it was ... alright.

The factor that led to this place's higher ratings must be because of it's Zabiha Halal certification, which was a draw to us too, but when compared to other places that serve the same or adjacent dishes with the same certifications, such as Crescent Moon and Thai Noodle Wave (yes, they are Thai but they do serve orange sesame chicken as well!), this place is left in the dust.

OVERALL VERDICT: 3/5 Decent place for the price but the fast service comes at the cost of quality and there isn't much to write home about.

My call? Skip this and go to Thai Noodle Wave, they never disappoint and they're close...
