My second visit and I was hoping for a better experience this time around, but it was pretty much the same as the first time.
The staff is friendly and nice to talk to. They also have a designated prayer room, which is great. They have seating outside as well, which is wonderful on a nice evening.
We ordered a strawberry and hazelnut/Nutella crepe, the brown kinafa, a chocolate/vanilla pastry, cardamom tea, and green tea. It took them a long time to bring our order. We got the pastry after 20 mins, but then we had to wait another 10m for the teas and the brown kinafa.
The frustrating part was waiting for the crepe - it must've taken at least 40 mins. When we were done with the food we had already received, we told a second staff member that we had yet to receive our crepe. I didn't want it at that point but the nice waiter went looking for it anyway. The crepe finally arrived and it was room temperature, which was disappointing. It looked nice on the outside but the strawberries on the inside weren't drizzled with the chocolate/Nutella, it looked like a spoon of chocolate was put in the middle, on a couple of strawberries. The crepe itself was thicker than preferred, it was like a soft tortilla.
The brown kinafa was decent - it was fresh. The cardamom tea was an Ahmed Cardamom Tea teabag. The green teas were the same.
I may come back just to sit outside and have a coffee or something, but that's it really.
I hope my experience was an exception, since most people have more positive ones. The people here seem to be nice, and I'd like for them to do well. So give it a try, it may be...
Read moreI had always heard great things about this place and kept meaning to check it out. The plethora of positive and highly-rated Yelp and Google Reviews ultimately led us here and today was that day. Mom and I entered a beautiful, charming, delightfully adorned space with aesthetic design elements that harmonized well with the muted hues of the walls and the intricate detail of the mosaic tables. We were warmly greeted by Safa with a smile and she gave us a bit of background on the establishment. This is such a cute place; gave me vibes reminiscent of childhood and where I grew up. A taste of my former home.
An enticing array of Middle Eastern Desserts (Baklava, Ice Cream, Kunefe, etc.) await you. Delicious and ideal portions at reasonable prices, and all made fresh and in-house daily. We tried the smallest size cup (4 oz) - Mom had the Pistachio and I opted for a scoop of each (Pistachio and Vanilla). We truly enjoyed the airy, velvety texture and subtly sweet taste. I would like to try the Mango and Banana Hazelnut on our next visit.
Also purchased baklava to take home and enjoy (Cookie Butter Rolls, Classic Pistachio, Namora, and Turkish Baklava Fingers). Five star visit. Stellar customer service provided by Safa - who answered any and all questions we had regarding their products and services. This place is perfect to beat the heat for those hot Texas summer days when you just want to relax, unwind and indulge. There is a warm and welcoming vibe here and we will...
Read moreStopped by when I was in the mood for a Middle Eastern dessert while visiting Frisco. The Customer Service was amazing as soon as I walked into the door. Several of the staff behind the counter stopped cleaning and prepping some other desserts to come see I had any questions or was ready to order. The menu is very large, so I sat down to read through all the options. All of the desserts sounded good, so tried a little bit of everything.
The baklavas and small sweets are perfect for sampling as they're a small serving. The young lady working the register did a great job of describing all the baklavas and sweets. I can't remember all the ones I ordered as I was picking them while looking in the display case. I do remember the cream puff baklava, sweet cheese, and coconut hareesa. All of them were good. The tastes were all varied from not so sweet (hareesa) to the very sweet (cream puff baklava), but all were full of flavor and very good. For the main dessert, ordered the Arabic ice cream. This was by far my favorite overall. The creamy ice cream was offset by the large amount of pistachios wrapped around several times. The ice cream was very smooth, silky, and not overly sweet. The pistachios were plentiful and nicely wrapped a few times around the ice cream. There was a nice patio on the side with umbrellas to give you shade while enjoying your desserts.
Outstanding customer service and delicious desserts. Will definitely return when...
