Books-A-Million — Attraction in Gainesville

I cannot speak highly enough about this store - the welcoming staff, the clean and comfortable layout, and the incredible selection were all to such a high standard. To my annoyance we have lost our receipt, but the three male staff working on Saturday June 10th should all be properly commended by the manager of this outlet. All three were friendly, professional and great to chat with about books, UK culture, the store and Georgia. As out-of-towners we were so impressed by the selection - the cookbooks area is an amazingly good and broad selection, and the comics choice was huge, plus i found some issues on sale I have wanted for ages. No awful background musak playing, no noisy 'announcements' over the microphones, excellent air con working - we could have spent all day in here. I sincerely hope the boss sees this and recognises the staff in this location for doing an amazing job - i wish this store was here in Manhattan so we could go every day!!!! Thank you again. And as regards the negative post below about magazine subscriptions - anyone who let their daughter use a debit card without making her properly aware of the consequences should probably be blaming the person they see in the mirror, or taking the debit...

Shoppers beware!! The way the folks at this store push the magazine subscription offers as a "free" is very sneaky and confusing. As a young and inexperienced shopper, my daughter armed with her new debit card went shopping for Christmas presents and now in February starts getting reoccurring charges to her account for magazine subscriptions that she didn't know she authorized. This happened because the clerk made it sound as if there was nothing else to do and no charges would be made. She did not sign any agreement but the sale transaction for the books she bought in the store kept her debit card as payment for future charges. I find this very underhanded and deceitful. I was in the store looking for a pee wee herman figure. Asked two associates for help. Instead of helping one girl radio to ask if someone else knew where there were. Person came back over radio and said no we never carried them. I told them several times my boyfriend has seen then all this week. So 8 let him tell the girl where he saw them because I could find them. The whole time he telling her where to look she saying we don't have it and you can come here and look yourself. At this point I'm beyond frustrated. All I ask was for some help but the rolling of the eyes and funky attitude was uncalled for. I WILL NEVER AND I DO MEAN NEVER GO BACK TO THAT STORE. I'LL RATHER SHOP ELSE WHERE WERE THEY VALUE CUSTOMERS and DON'T MIND...
