The store itself is great. Always clean, well stocked and organized, and the employees are kind and helpful.
I've done multiple pick up orders and they're always wrong. Switching a Bluey item for a Cocomelon one (my child adores Bluey and has never once seen Cocomelon), charging me for 5 lbs of potatoes but I ended up with 1.5 lbs of the tiny potatoes, etc. They've always fixed it, but I have to go inside, which is exactly what I'm trying to avoid when I have a sick child and need groceries.
But the biggest issue for me is the bathrooms. They're disgusting. Without a doubt, my toddler has to go potty at Aldi every time. I started carrying lysol wipes to clean the toilet before my child uses it, and I have to do it EVERY time. The bathrooms are nasty every single time, like they just never or very rarely clean them. It's been almost a year since we started going to this Aldi and there's been absolutely no improvement on the bathroom situation. 🤢 I understand they're bathrooms and constantly getting used, but the built up grime on the sinks, floor, toilets and trash cans is unacceptable. I've been to hundreds of grocery stores (we travel for work) and these bathrooms are consistently the worst ones...
Read moreI shop here quite often, not only for myself, but also for a food pantry. The prices are lower than most grocery stores and discount stores. The quality is almost very good. So far, I've only not liked one item - the Clancy's cheese curls. They had an odd taste. It's always interesting to see what they have in their non-food aisle. You just never know what they might have - everything from pajama pants to gas grills and tools! Sometimes they have rather long lines to check out, but I do think they've improved by opening another cash register when the lines get long. The manager of the store in Galesburg has been very helpful when we're buying very large amounts for the food pantry. If we call ahead with what we need he makes sure they have what we need and has even packed everything so all we have to do is come pay for the order. Do consider buying flowers here. They're lovely and last as long as flowers from places that...
Read moreI love our Aldi. So glad they updated the store. You get the same amount of groceries for half the price and most things taste just as good, if not better. Some things to put on the list to try-best cottage cheese, hands down. Olive oil at a fraction of the cost of other stores. Ciabatta bread is amazing and always fresh. The best chicken nuggets with tempura type breading. Frozen ravioli and meatballs are suoer good and soooo much cheaper and bags are large. Skip the produce unless you are using it that day or the next. Large bags of frozen bluberries for about 75% less than other stores. Highly recommend this location. Very nice,...
