One star review is based on our experience trying to check out the place as potential renters. First, I contacted the complex via their website to set up an appointment for today to see the apartments a week in advance. No response. So we decided to stop by at 1:30 since the website states that the leasing office is open from 10-4. When you drive into the complex, the signs leading you to the leasing office are extremely misleading. There is one sign with an arrow pointing to a door that is locked. Maybe it's pointing to the garage, but we went to 3 different buildings because it was not apparent to any of the people in my party. Not to mention we had to run around in the freezing weather going from one place to another. I try calling the number listed on google, which leads me to an answering service that is not even on the premises. I try the number listed on the website and on the side of the building. All it says is that I would be connected with a staff member, plays music for 30 seconds, and then hangs up. We finally ask a resident where the leasing office is, so we go in and there is a tiny label on the intercom that says to dial 209 for the leasing office. Tried it 5x with no answer- we waited for 20 minutes. You must be trying extremely hard to drive away potential tenants even though there tons of apartments available.
*EDITED. River Edge reached out to us via Facebook after our review was posted. They helped us make an appointment and made sure to be there when we arrived. Nick was extremely helpful and showed us around the complex. He did tell us that based on our review, they changed things up (e.g., putting a sign right in front of the doorway to get to the leasing office), which would make it a much better experience for...
Read moreI recently had to move out of River Edge at Garfield Apartments for family reasons. I already miss the comforts of the Apartment & the pleasant community atmosphere.
The counter space is bigger than most homes. The marble counter top/island is easy to keep clean. I miss the modern refrigerator, self cleaning oven, and top of the oven microwave. I also miss the dishwasher & in apartment washer/dryer.
The large Living room is spacious for entertaining, especially with easy access to the kitchen island. The walk-in closet is so large, I used it as an overnight bedroom when my grandson visited.
The fitness center was very useful, especially when Covid was worse. It allowed me to give up my gym membership. In season, the pool is like new & the Lifeguards are great at keeping it open - even after a rain shower. Great family atmosphere. The Community is large enough to bike ride & there are safe racks underneath the buildings.
If you have a dog, the community is great for dog walking. Along with the pool, a great way to meet others. With the help of the “dog stations,” dog walkers were great at keeping the community clean. There is also a dog park just o/s the community.
The Community is safe for children. Not needed, but the Garfield police ride thru several times a day.
The existence of both an elevator & stairs made access to the apartment very accessible.
If you are new to the area, quick shopping/eating is very close in Garfield & Elmwood Park.
I strongly recommend this Complex & if I return to Bergen County, River Edge would be the only place I d...
Read moreToday, exactly after a month, my lost package magically appears on LuxerOne and I get a notification. The same package that was missing for 30 days comes unopened. How did it go missing or where was it all this while (no explanation).
You just have to accept it. WHich I did.
While, I'd thank River Edge Garfield, its hard to understand this process.
The video footage around LuxerOne locker wasn't viewable was the response we got from the Leasing Office.
Then how did the package appear after 30 days? It's a mystery.
However, no start rating will be changed because the ELEVATOR hasn't been operational for over 6 weeks now. A Klepto more so a thief lives in building 200 or Building 600 who has a habit of stealing others UPS, FedEx and USPS package. Yes, I call that person a thief because the person to whom the package belongs is listed as the recipient in the label. Yet, the thief doesn’t have the decency to return the package if he or she took it by accident.
You are a shameless thief who lives on other person’s hard earned money.
My packages are lost. It is my hard earned money...
