Nice place to see a little wildlife while letting the kids burn energy. We saw a bald eagle! Several geese. There is a fish hatchery right next to the park. Lots of benches and picnic tables. A shelter with a proper grill and sinks as well as shuffleboard. A walk way to the riverside. Restrooms with a well kept building that has been freshly painted. Beautiful scenery. Not may playgrounds in the area but this is a great one. Also the equipment is in good condition and has 4 slides on it. Our 2 year old was able to enjoy it well. Clean place. Be careful of bears as this entire city and surrounding area does have them. We did not see any but noticed some people did not bother to learn how to operate the special trash cans designed to keep bears out. Please be sure you do so that we can all be safe and enjoy these parks. We also don't want any harm to happen to the bear.

Our family visits gatlinberg, 3 or 4 times a year. We live in Ohio. My son grew up fishing at this park.. While I understand, Park rules state this is for children 12 and under. My son, while 17 is developmentally delayed and autistic. It's very sad to me that accommodations are not made for these children. Again, he is over 12.However he functions at the level of a five year old mentally. Fishing is his one joy in life. He would do it everyday all day long. He does not keep anything he catches. Always catch and release. He loves this park and it hurts my heart that they have banned him from fishing there because he's over twelve. Again, it seems some kind of accommodation should be made for these children and young adults If they could produce records verify their challenges.

Ok so gatlinburg restocks the stream right from this location. You're not allowed to fish on Thursday as that's the day they release the new fish. But the section the park is at is specifically for children to fish!! My kids loved it. The bigger fish were tough but the tiny fish were very active which was fun!! My boys and I had a blast! The water is super clear and relaxing to hear. Enjoy yourself to a family picnic and there's even a playground for the kids to enjoy when taking a break from fishing!!

We wanted to go to a place where the children could fish without having time restrictions. This is the perfect spot. They have concrete picnic tables and grills that are right by the water. They also have a big kiosk for like large family gatherings and the bathrooms are not outhouses. They are regular bathrooms. Which for me is a PLUS. A play ground for the little ones is really close by that adults can enjoy their food AND also keep an eye on their children. The water is not deep at all, (where we were) But I believe as you go further down it starts to get deep. Children 12 yrs and under can fish from bridge to bridge, this is because the water is safer and not too deep. I am glad I found this little gem on my maps and I will be coming here again on our next vacation. Plus the view is...
