Probably the friendliest staff and best service I've encountered in years. All interactions with everyone working at this location had a genuine smile and well-deserved pride in their establishment. You interact with a lot of servers here, and we loved everyone we met. Kudos to whomever runs this restaurant.
It's set up like a Brazilian steak house. They will ask you what appetizers you want with no limit. Then, an endless string of unique pizza combinations followed by endless dessert pizzas. We had many offerings off the menu.
Appetizer options are all worth trying. The salads are excellent. Wings average with a very liberal amount of sauce. We liked the garlic ones best. The focaccia bread is a good finger food starter. Practically full after that, and just these alone made a great meal.
The pizza is a thinner crust and quite soft, cooked in a brick oven style. They cut the slices very thin and small, but with the extensive variety, you appreciate the ability to try everything. Usually, around 4 different types of pizza on each pan the servers have. They do ask if you want anything specific as well. Please do try everything you can because no matter how strange it sounds, you will be delighted with the taste.
The dessert pizzas are pure bliss. Seriously, I'd come back here just for this alone. They made a dessert pizza into an art form. I've never had anything like it in my life. It's so rich and good that my whole group was floored when we tried it. Seriously, we couldn't stop trying everything and were nearly all at the point of bursting before we had to drop the fork and tap out.
Please try the juice drinks. All fresh and delicious. The cinnamon coffee decadent.
The price for what you get almost made me feel guilty. Even as expensive dining has become these days.
The river view is pretty, and the building seems out of place for the style of food, but it's cozy and inviting.
I wish I had taken pictures of the food, but I was too busy eating to remember to pull out my phone.
We were here on a Saturday night and it wasn't busy, but I'd probably make reservations if you have a group bigger than four judging by the average table setup.
I can't say enough good things about my experience here. Please give them a try and see...
Read moreThe interior is beautiful and fully hangs over the water that runs through Gatlinburg. Full of windows and natural light, this place is stunning. We were fortunate enough to go on their opening night and the staff was beyond accommodating. The price may be off-putting to those who expect cheap and boring pizza dinner, but considering the experience, I would say it's actually on the lower end of the price spectrum. You're served unlimited appetizers, pizza, and dessert. The drink selection is excellent and has several brazillian favorites. In regards to the food it is beyond excellent. I'm a bit of a pizza snob, and I did not want for anything. Playing with textures and flavors seems to be well within their capabilities and the results were magnificent. Stroganoff pizza? How about one with blue cheese? A mountain of perfectly cooked meats piled on a pizza? Maybe you'd prefer something more fun like a nacho pizza made with crushed doritos and ground beef? Any way you slice it, this place blew me away. And do not even get me started on the wait staff! They were attentive, kind, experienced, and informative, all the while training the younger members of the staff (who by the way were excellent and let you know with certainty that this a family operation.) For any pizza lover out there I would highly recommend this place, and if you don't like pizza (what's wrong with you?!) The crispy chicken wings, meatballs, focacia, and wide array of brazillian inspired desserts are sure to please. Please give this place a try, I cannot...
Read moreThis is our first trip to Gatlinburg and we were looking forward to a simple meal and what is more simple than Pizza? A nice pizza place with a water view would be a relaxed meal. Much like our first trip to a Brazilian steakhouse, our trip to Rio was anything but simple. We were greeted and served by Gabriella and her service could not have been any better. We then learned that your meal is a flat price ($28.50) and it includes 2 kinds of bread, 2 kinds of salad, 4 different kinds of chicken wings, Meatballs, 17 different kinds of pizza, and 4 dessert pizzas. This is not a buffet mind you as each of these items are prepared to order and are endless. The pizzas are presented much like the cuts of meat are presented in a churrasqueiro. With all of these options, I was blown away when they did all they could to accommodate my wife’s numerous dietary restrictions. Custom Pizzas were made and delivered on time but our superstar server Gabriella. The dessert pizza’s were out of this world and the Banofee dessert pizza was the best sweet pizza I have ever eaten. We cannot recommend it any higher. Wish we could...
