Carriage House Gifts & Flowers — Attraction in Georgetown

I called on Mon., 10/21/24 and ordered a basket of flowers to be delivered on Wednesday, 10/23, for the visitation of a dear friend's mother who had passed away and confirmed that the flowers would be delivered on time for the visitation. My husband and I went to visitation and there were no flowers from us. The funeral was the next day, so I called Carriage House as soon as they opened, which is allegedly 10am. No one answered the phone until nearly 10:30am with the funeral starting at 11am. I spoke to Karen who told me she would "investigate" and return my call. When she called back, she told me the flowers had been delivered to the wrong funeral home and offered to "run a planter" up to the correct funeral home really quick. I told her no, thank you, that I would order flowers from the family's town and have them delivered to their house. I can't begin to tell you how absolutely embarrassing this is and then to top it off, for the FAMILY to text me and let me know they never received the flowers I had told them to expect. They have enough to be worried about with the loss of their mother and now are worried about flowers from an incompetent flower shop. You had...

I highly, highly recommend this florist. I called the Carriage House Gifts & Flowers to place a rather unusual order. The flower arrangement was to be delivered to Old Friends Farm for a Memorial Day event. The arrangement was for a horse that resided at the farm, and passed away unexpectedly. This arrangement meant a great deal to me. Since my request was unique, I wondered if the shop would even be interested in filling my order.

Both Kevin and Karen could not have been lovelier. Kevin was very patient as I describe what I had in mind. Karen even called me back to discuss the arrangement further. She also wanted to be sure I would be happy with the choice of flowers. Not only was I impressed with Karen’s design, but also with the consideration she gave my order. If she would go out of her way to put that level of care into a wreath for a horse for a person calling from NJ, I can only imagine the level of attention to detail she gives to arrangements for formal occasions.

Always a pleasure to work with Karen and Kevin at the Carriage House in Georgetown KY. I return again and again because they want to please and due to that my arrangements, be it for Derby Day, Christmas or Special Dinner occasions always turn out with my personality and their creative talents rolled into one. They allow me hands on creativity with them to the point that we at times are designing Christmas tablescapes on the floor of their store together or, I rush in and plead.. "Make me a beauty, I trust you, here are the colors I need." Out of town friends have taken the time to comment that they were treated on the phone in such a kind and unrushed manner when they called from out of state to order funeral arrangements for our family. It is no surprise that there was not a second thought as to who we would go to for our only daughters wedding flowers this year. I know after all these years. they will do what they always do.
