I am not one to write reviews for anything, but I hope I can make a difference with this one. I felt the need to contribute with the bad reviews because I have been kinda disappointed with ALL of my food experiences this year with the Texas Roadhouse of Georgetown. To me, it has gone down hill, and I hope I am not just going crazy here!
My boyfriend and I dined at the Georgetown location last night. My go-to dish has ALWAYS been the 6oz sirloin with mashed potatoes and a house salad. Needless to say, they do forget the bacon on my salad sometimes, but that isn’t the big issue here. It isn’t even a big deal to me because I usually get more bacon when they forget it, so a plus!
However, I am not exactly sure if anyone knows how to truly cook a steak there! Is the kitchen staff just young, new, and naive? I would advise management or somebody with actual “grilling skills” to train/retrain the cooks please! I have ordered the sirloin several times with each visit I have had this year and I always request it to be medium. “Hot pink center” right? I kid you not, it ALWAYS turned out to be well done. I might get lucky with a little pink or medium well. I even joked about having to request it down a temperature to medium rare to have a shot at getting medium because they always overcook it! I’d have them send it back and on a couple occasions -I’ll admit- it would come back a little more cooked than I would want, but I would eat it anyway. It would save TR money, innocent cows’ lives, and the customer’s sanity if it is being done right the FIRST time! Meat and patience are not cheap these days! Also, has their steak seasoning changed? (Just curious)
I would never get angry with anyone, and as a fellow waitress, I know that it isn’t the server’s fault and the one I would be complaining to about the cooking, unless they do the complaining to you! The waitress my boyfriend and I had last night said HERSELF that she had to send 26 steaks back to the kitchen within her whole shift, and I appreciate that she apologized to us! I know we all make mistakes, but for her to say that just shows that training and care needs to be initiated with the kitchen staff because something is going wrong!
I just want to be fully satisfied with my dining there. The steak cooking sadly isn’t the same! The sides and the famous rolls are what’s on point, but what makes it a “steakhouse” is not. I think it’s became ridiculous, and something needs to be done before they start to lose business! I love Texas Roadhouse, but the next time I go to THIS location, I’ll only be there...
Read moreWe visited Texas Roadhouse in Georgetown Kentucky during a recent trip to Kentucky. Service was okay, although the waitress couldn’t get the tickets correct. Food was good. We got up to leave (there were 9 of us). We were walking out single file. I get to the door and someone asked where my granddaughter was. I turned around and she wasn’t behind me. Even though she is taller than me, she just turned 12 the previous week. I started going back in, retracing my steps. Before I got to her I got a text saying “Mimi, I need you”. I walk in and our waitress and another person had stopped her to talk to her about someone not paying their bill. ((Part paid cash and a few paid with the card kiosk on table)). I had watched the lady across from me put her debit card in and struggle but said it went through. I guess it didn’t. The point is they could’ve followed us and talked to an adult. Instead they stopped a 12 year old and scared her. I got to them and found out what was going on went back to grab the lady. I called to complain and the mgmt staff just said blah blah blah they needed their pymt and didn’t see anything wrong with talking to a minor. So I called corporate office. Their loss prevention pulled video and said the video didn’t support my story. Up until this point I just wanted to make sure they understood it is wrong to stop and talk to a minor about an adult situation. Maybe give her a free appetizer or something to make her want to go back (because now she does not!). But a simple I am sorry this will never happen again to another child. But nope. I got the video doesn’t support your story. Well, I have no idea if they are even watching the correct video or time? But I can assure you my story is engraved in this Grandma’s mind because turning and not seeing your 12 year old Granddaughter behind you is not pleasant. They have no concept of customer service when a complaint came in. They lost a customer for life by...
Read moreYou expect a new business to have to have a learning curve,, a period of time for new employees to learn their jobs,, all the unemployed people going back to work in a new field still learning their jobs,, it's expected,, really it is.. but it sure wasn't evident at the opening of the new Texas Roadhouse last night.. My wife has been patiently waiting for the day it would open. Her and I both do love a good steak. Well last night she decided to order out a couple of steak dinners. We got online and looked at the menu. She had recently road by and said the place was packed. We called our order in just a few minutes before 9pm. The woman who took her order was the nicest and very knowledgeable with the menu, how steaks are cooked,, everything my wife asked about she had an answer for. Very knowledgeable indeed. She took my wife's number and said she would text her when our order was ready. Considering what my wife had told me I figured our order to be ready about 10pm because it was opening night,, new employees, and the business was slammed. Instead her phone rang just before 9:30 and it was the woman calling us back saying our order was ready.. That was awesome,, I really couldn't believe it was already ready. My wife went to pick it up and once she had it she didn't even check it just drove it on home. The bag contained everything we ordered and even peanuts.. We sat down to eat while the meal was still warm (and it was very warm) and we had one of our best meals ever in Georgetown, KY. The steaks were cooked perfectly, the side dishes were great, we had plenty of fresh hot rolls to eat,, it was an incredible meal. I never expected to get this kind of food on opening night. I have no idea how they expect to improve on last night. Opening night and they have already earned 5 stars from this family. It really was that good,, from service to food it was 5 star all the way.. We will defiantly be back for more,, I hope they can maintain this...
