Read moreWHAT did you DO to our wonderful Glendale Glitters?? I have attended for YEARS. Many years. the library is in the middle of the park, and on all the 45 degree sidewalks around the library are different things. To the north was a TV where my young son found out if Ralphie would shoot his eye out with a BB gun or not. To the east was booths, and the last few years some rides on the side street. To the south was various bounce houses and more booths. Booths were all over the place, and they were interesting. Above all the booths were the trees in various colors.
This year?? NOTHING is inside the park except the trees! No booths. No rides. No bounce houses. No ANYTHING but GRASS. then, along the outer edge of the park, on the public street and not anywhere in the park, are some vendors selling really cheap stuff (a word well above what I want to call what most are selling) I doubt they have anything to do with the G. G. as they are on a public street so probably just entrepreneurs taking advantage of the lack of booths IN the park. What a disappointment this year. NOTHING but the trees lit up in the park. Shocking! Glendale, you lost me for your show. I'll continue to go to Zoolights, the Parade of Lights in Phoenix, and the RR Park in Scottsdale. But no more Glendale Glitters. Just not worth even the drive. You took it ALL away! Very...
Read moreI think your experience here depends a lot on your expectations. My suggestion is to lower them. This is my family's first year attending Glendale glitters and we drove about 45 minutes to get there. For the drive I would say it was a disappointment. However if it were 10 minutes from my house I would have been thrilled that there were some neat Christmas lights close by encompassing the whole city block. My family enjoyed the entertainment there as there was a local school choir singing Christmas carols in the outdoor amphitheater. We watched for about 20 minutes. I loved the giving machine as I know how much good the LDS church does with their humanitarian efforts and I'm confidence our money there is well spent and honestly used. If you're like me and you read other reviews there were plenty of five star and plenty of one star. The one star reviews are from people who went years ago and it was a lot bigger a lot better and had a lot more to offer. The five stars were people who didn't have high expectations. As for me and my family my kids enjoyed playing in the park, The lights were pretty, but for the long drive I didn't really feel like I got my money's worth (in gas expenditure. The...
