Shirley's Gourmet Popcorn Company of Goshen — Attraction in Goshen

This place is really cute and a fun treat. There are a variety of popcorn flavors at different price points. Though of course the more interesting flavors are going to be at the premium price point like Windy City, which is a blend of cheddar and caramel popcorn. For two small bags of premium popcorn, which was Windy City and cheddar cheese, we paid about $13 and change. If you decide to close the bag and not take it with you open you get significantly less popcorn. But the very nice lady at the counter informed us that we should wink wink have the bags open so we could get more popcorn. Even though my experience was really great here I put four stars because the price point to me is just a little insane. They are not Garrets popcorn in Chicago with a following and,indeed, a secret and delicious recipe. They are a gourmet popcorn stand in Goshen and it just feels a little difficult to spend almost $14 on two small bags of popcorn when that could also buy a burger at Biebs and Ash. I'm in town for my company doing some sidewalk work. I'm sitting in my dump truck when I happen to look over and see across the street this little Gourmet Popcorn shop. While I'm waiting to be loaded I'll run across the street and grab a small bag of popcorn (what, a truck driver eating? No way). As soon as I walked in, was greeted with a warm smile and the Amazing smells. I grab a small bag of cheddar popcorn (Amazing). Took some home to the wife and she loved it. Came back today and got a small bag of their Buckeye mix and Jelly Bean (Jelly Bean is for the wife, but I did try it. Omg!!!). Buckeye for now is my most favorite of the three I've tried. P.S. For starters, “Shirley” is my beloved Grandma’s Doppleganger!! Seriously! So cool! To top that off, my mom’s name is Shirley! So.. duh! We HAD to try Shirley’s Gourmet Popcorn and I’m so glad I did! I got the Classic Caramel and nuts - which actually happen to be peanuts (though peanuts aren’t really a nut - but that’s not what I’m here for 🤓🤪)! And thank God! I have long been craving caramel popcorn with peanuts but have not found any; other places seem to add almonds 🤢 or other nuts 🤢🤢. When she confirmed they were indeed peanuts, I was so excited. And boy! Did they ever come through on taste and satisfaction!! BEST caramel popcorn with peanuts EVER!!!! Cracker Jacks, WHO?!
