Salmon Brook Park — Attraction in Granby

This park is on 116 acres and provides many recreational options. We came here for the playground. The tot lot playscape was nicely maintained and is on mulch with a couple of benches. This playground is for children ages 2-10 and is a fenced in area. Over by the basketball courts, there is the playground for children ages 5-12.

Parking was plentiful. Across the street are the restrooms. There are tennis courts right nearby and a huge soccer field. There are ball fields, a bandshell, basketball courts, bathhouse, children's memorial garden, dog park, horse exercise area, horseshoe game area, pavilions, volleyball courts, veteran's wall memorial, swimming in a pond, snack shack during games, and a pond house for events. While this is a very enjoyable dog park. It is a place where there are oft conflicts stemming from owner error and lack of knowledge how to handle a dog. People leave their dogs on leashes, which causes problems, people insist dogs are aggressive when they're simply giving social queues and working out their social hierarchy for the group present, people tend to throw for your dog and aim the ball at trees which presents an issue having dogs run into them. I love Salmon Brook Park. It's beautiful and well planned out. There's space for everyone and great parking. There are base ball fields, football and soccer fields not to mention tennis courts, basketball. Swings a wonderful children's area to play in that's fenced in. The dog park is large and grass. There's even a place to swim, nice picnic area and a band shell. The trash cans are empty and the park is in great shape. It's busy but there's room for all. Enjoy! But please respect our park.
