Beautiful little stroll to the end and back. Tons of goose poo and ducks can be a little aggressive if you have food, but otherwise great. Nice red Pavillion and benches to enjoy. I think it might be nice to try fishing near the log jam at the front of the park, if the water is deep enough, I bet there could be some bass hanging out below the wood piles in the river.

Absolutely beautiful here. Great place for tons of shade and fishing. Bring a can of peas of corn for the ducks and feed them for great fun, too. Be careful, though, and know that they aren't shy; be close to your babies. My son is 4 years old and took caution when getting closer to feed. Great place for a picnic, fishing, and/or just a walk.

A very cute and chill park area. Came here with my best friend and we ended up running into the geese! They were friendly-ish. Definitely recommend this park as it has wonderful natural areas and great views. If you’re lucky and the geese don’t chase ya you could even snap a couple photos of them and the surrounding area!

The Island Park is a great Grand Ledge gem. Its full of history and a great way to wind down and relax with a nice walk to view the scenic surroundings. The Island use to be two separate island back in the early 1900's when the two islands use to have a hotel on the back of the island and a Round House Hotel with a swing that went around it on the top and a roller coaster that could be the first one in Michigan. Where the gazebo is now. The third island which is off to your right when you cross the bridge, use to have a bridge to it where a mini zoo with bears, deers, other animals took place. Today, you can enjoy the Grand River and at the end of the island, you can see Oak Park to your right and the 300 year old sandstone ledges. Also, you can see the Railroad tressel bridge that was built in 1887. In the Fall, you can view the beautiful fall colors down Grand River along the river banks. There is also a trail that runs along the island to Fitzgerald Park just before on the left as you walk across the bridge. The city has two major festivals that takes place in August and October. The Art Fair and Color Cruise. Island Park is part of the 7 islands in that area. Like I said, Island Park is 1 & 2 and the 3rd one is on the right at the front. The rest is down river on the other side of the Railroad tressel bridge. You'll...

This is exactly what the name says. It's a decent size island in the river with easy access from a bridge via parking lot. It's always very calm and peaceful when I go there. It's also a great lead in to walking the trail of the Ledges ending in Fitzgerald park. There is a gazebo on the island that is good size. I don't recall there being any place to bbq, and I'm not sure its even allowed. It's still a great place to go to have a picnic or take the kids for a short outing. It's also walking distance to two great ice cream shops, I prefer lickity split, and the rest of downtown...

Great island park! The park is long and narrow with a good view of the river on both sides. There is a nice paved sidewalk which runs the length of the island along with some park benches and a few picnic tables. You can take a picnic lunch if the weather is nice. The trees on the river banks are beautiful in the Fall. There are ducks and geese around the island which are fun for the kids.

The city holds several events on the island on special weekends during the year which are fun and well...
