Johnny Ford Sports Cards & Memorabilia — Attraction in Grand Rapids

I had a really disappointing experience at Johnny Ford sports, the customer service was poor and left a bad impression. I'm new to the sports card hobby and was excited to stop in to a "close-to-home" shop and to support a local business.

I brought in some of my PC to have it reviewed and after checking 2 or 3 cards, the other 10 cards on the table were totally ignored. I asked for clarification and was dismissed without much of an explanation other than that they're targeting cards with $20 or more in value. I went home and found at least 5 of the cards that I had brought in, had recently sold multiple times over the last few months from anywhere between $25-100, so to be dismissed so quickly and without further explanation left me confused.

My youngest son is learning how to earn things in life. At 9 years old sometimes its tough to find that motivation to get him to try hard at school and jobs around the house. Pokemon has been that light at the end of the tunnel. The owner and crew at this location are absolutely pros at every level. Not only can they speak that kid language, but they have the knowledge to keep my sons attention. We now have a place he will look forward to going to after he earns his rewards (pokemon cards). They are fully stocked with everything you could imagine in the pokemon world and can steer us parents that have no clue in the right direction with honest input and advice. The amount of good things to say about this card shop are unlimited. Tim, Eric and Shawn cover all the bases of the hobby and aim to help everyone out, regardless if they have the item you're looking for in stock or not. The fresh singles case stays updated constantly, the wax shelf is constantly getting depleted and restored on the daily, and an endless supply of vintage from all years, sports and condition. The care, thought and time put in by the staff is appreciated by their customers and shows with how popular their trade nights/card shows are that they host.
