Great vendors, but really disappointed with their pet policy. I have been to dozens of similar markets, and have never ran into such a rule for an outdoor market. The reasoning I was given for this makes even less sense. "...to keep dogs from getting into the produce." This is what leashes are for. If a dog is unruly, ask its owners to leave. A blanket rule like this throws the baby out with the bathwater. From what I could tell, the non food vendors are mandated to the outer area of the market. Any person with a basic understanding of marketing/advertising knows this is the worst place for products to be. Oh, but dogs are allowed in this area. Strange layout descision for sure. Typically artists are intermingled with produce booths for varietys sake. I would be very hesitant to booth here.
Anyway, great place to get what you need for the week and some very talented artists. Unfortunately pet rule is absurd, especially for a small town. Its a farmers market,...
Read moreService Dogs Beware! The farmers at this market are terrific. However, the manager of this market is well known for her loud, angry and obnoxious behavior. She accused us of having a fake ADA letter for our service dog, Bella. She raged at my husband to take our dog out of the market immediatly. Suddenly, it was like watching Saturday Night at the Fights! as we stood in line to buy tomatoes. Minutes earlier we had shown our documents to a security person who politely thanked us for carrying them with us. The next minute we were being screamed at by a confrontational, enranged person who refused to even look at our documents. The folks in line with me said they had seen this behavior before. While attempting to humiliate us she succeeded in embarrassing herself. I am sorry for these hardworking farmers; forced to endure this unprofessional...
Read moreMy family is new (10/17) to the Grants Pass area. We recently found out about Grower's Market & have been twice now. May & June '18. We bought veggie plants, fresh veggies, duck & chicken eggs, tamales & jams. We also met a lovely lady named Wendy that sells jewelry made of rough/raw gems. My daughter fell in love with one of her necklaceses, unfortunately she did not take credit card, but was willing to hold the item til the following weekend so we could pay cash. We went back & there was Wendy with the necklace! My only suggestion at this time is to ask the seller's to be set up to take "cards." I am not a fan of holding onto a lot of cash. Also, there is not an ATM within easy walking distance. Otherwise, if you come prepared this is an awesome...
