In February of 2018 I bought a pair of Simms G3 waders as a backup pair to the waders I was currently wearing at the time, knowing it was the end of their life soon. I began wearing the G3s in June of the same year and had to send them back to Simms at the end of august for my first year repair under warranty because they were already leaking. I finally got my waders back in mid November and wore them 4 times before they started leaking again. I take care of my waders, making sure they are hung upside down, out of the sun when I am not using them. I sent my waders back for a second time in December and Simms tells me they will not repair them under warranty because of mildew in my waders. Simms offered me 40% off my next waders which would still cost me a couple hundred dollars and I told them I can't spend a couple hundred dollars every year on waders. I went back to Al and Andy at Old Ausable and they took care of me when Simms wouldn't! I've never had anything bad to say about Simms before, but this put a bad taste in my mouth, but from this Old Ausable gained a lot of loyalty and respect from me and I will continue to conduct my business with Old Ausable. The service at Old Ausable is above and beyond anything I've ever experienced before. They make sure their customers are treated right. I am very humbled by Al and Andy's help through all of this and very grateful to have them...
Read moreI went to your store looking for wading boots. I found that the ones that you had in stock were too stiff in the soles and uppers for my needs, as I have found boots that stiff to be unsafe, and hard on my ankles. The salesperson then told me "You'll have to go to Home Depot and buy some workboots, because they don't make wading boots like that." . I then went to Skip's and got exactly what I needed, for less money than what you were selling, and a much better boot for my needs. I will be avoiding your store in the future, unless it's a last resort. I had other things to buy that day, other than the boots, and I did not buy them at your store, nor will I...
Read moreWow! Went into the fly shop to talk about fly fishing and organizing a guide. The store was empty, I was ignored by the two guys at the front counter. I walked around to check it out. It was in total disarray. Merchandise thrown on the floor, displays not maintained. Too bad they have a great location and space. No one approached me while I was in the store. When leaving I had to reach around one of the guys to get a brochure on guided trips. He looked at me and didnt say a word. I recommend Ron' Fly Fishing Shop, he greeted every customer, offered to...
