Don’t donate to the Goodwill in Greenfield.
I used to work there—and I’ve seen exactly how things go down. Decent stuff like game consoles, brand-name clothes, and video games? It never hits the sales floor. It’s pulled immediately and shipped off to their overpriced auction site, “Shop Goodwill.” That’s why you never find anything good in-store—it’s not about helping people, it’s about squeezing more profit.
Pricing? Ridiculous. I’ve overheard managers say things like, “Jeans are selling well? Raise the price.” They don’t care about helping struggling families. If something does well, they mark it up. Again. And again. I’ve watched people walk out empty-handed because even beat-up jeans were priced like they were new. It’s shameful.
Most donations don’t stay local. If it doesn’t make the cut, it gets tossed in the salvage bin or sent to the outlet center downtown. So much for helping the community.
Greenfield’s Goodwill is the most overpriced one around. Compared to Shelbyville, New Castle, Anderson—even Washington Street—this store is a joke. And a lot of that comes down to the manager, Jessica Coslett. She sets the prices with profit in mind, not people.
Management? Toxic. Say something in confidence, and it becomes floor gossip by the end of your shift. I’m calling it out—Dallas, Michele—you broke trust and made work miserable. That place runs on fake smiles and backstabbing.
Sure, a few coworkers were solid. But the culture? It’s trash.
If you want to truly help someone, donate to Hope House or a local shelter. Goodwill Greenfield is just a profit machine hiding behind a...
Read moreMy wife found some amazing deals. The cashier was a wonderful help and my wife said the manager was very nice in helping her get a box for her glassware. However one employee practically pushed my wife out of the way to get to the bathroom when my wife was next in line. She was about 5'8" tall, who I'd say was in her 30's, with shoulder length brown hair that was tied up. This employee said Mam, I need to get in there and when my wife turned to get her purse the employee darted around her and ran into the restroom. I guess she just got off work and was in there changing her clothes because minutes later she was out of her uniform and wearing street clothes. Totally RUDE and disrespectful to my wife. Had I seen the manager, I would have filed a complaint. I only wish I got her name...
Read moreFurniture is way way way overpriced. Often missing drawers in some items but not priced accordingly. They have the same furniture items for far too long, which results in no new items being put out. They can do better than this, and from what the employees and customers I've spoken with, it all seems to point to the store manager of this location. In addition to the furniture problems, they also seem to have a LOT of room on their racks for more clothes. When I came in for the first time since reopen, it was like they didn't even put any of the TWO HUNDRED PALLETS of donated items which were stuffing their store during the closure on their own shelves. Apparently they sent all that elsewhere. Again, this type of problem seems to point to...
