HIGHLY RECOMMEND INTREX COMPUTERS on Battleground in Greensboro. They replaced the keyboard of my Dell Precision M4700 laptop computer, very quickly (about 25 minutes, on and off), right then and there, and very inexpensively ($20.00 for the labor )! This happened a couple of weeks ago, so I know the repair was successful. I had bought a Dell OEM replacement keyboard on eBay for $48 and had tried to install it myself. Couldn't get it to work. Didn't know that 15-pin ribbon connectors are very difficult to use for a mere non-techie productivity user like me. The YouTube videos made it look easy. NOT!
So took it to Intrex. My wife has used them for all her PC needs over the years and recommended them highly. Turns out I had messed up the connector, so he CAREFULLY and EXPERTLY harvested the good circuit board with the connector on my old keyboard and replaced the circuit board I had damaged on the new keyboard. He then VERY CAREFULLY and EXPERTLY aligned the 15 pins of the connector with their mates and, after a couple of attempts, SUCCESS! (You would not believe how tiny the pins of the connectors are). I was so happy. Still am! So, I ask him what I owe him, and he says $22.73 or something like that. I stared at him and said, "You can charge me more." He replied, "Naw, it only took me 15 minutes." Amazing. I have decided to try to do all my PC-related equipment purchases and repairs with Intrex from now on. They sell (and build), systems and parts as well as repair them. The guy who was next in line--- without prompting-- enthusiastically raved about them. Only thing you might not like is, they don't smile a lot. No small talk or b.s. They're busy. That's fine with me--in fact, it's a good thing. I used to be around techies back in The Day-- was in the PC software industry for years. Some techies are charlatans, others are mediocre, and a few are talented rock stars like these guys, so I didn't mind a'tall. I don't need the upfront chit-chat and the love-- I get the love from the results. In that respect, these guys give a...
Read moreDO NOT TAKE YOUR PC HERE FOR REPAIR!!!! These people are liars and very deceitful do yourself a favor save your time and definitely your money and go somewhere else. I took my pc here for repair they said my pc needed a motherboard so I paid them $170 for the motherboard and $180 for “labor” they kept my pc for a month! I literally had my pc barely operating correctly when I got it back from them for a month and a half then same issues black screen stopped working again. I decided to take it to a highly recommended pc repair place in Kernersville. I got the owner of this pc repair place Calvin @WindowTech to diagnose it he confirmed that it was a faulty motherboard. I contacted the manager at Intrex computers Eric and told him I just wanted a refund for the motherboard since it was faulty and he said that he couldn’t give me a refund because their “vendor” only offers a 30 day warranty on motherboard for a refund. I was also told this was a new board and that was a lie! I gave them $350 and now I’m out of that money. I didn’t trust them to give them my pc again after they didn’t fix it right the first time and now being told sorry sir you’re just SOL We can’t give you any kind of refund at all which is BS! PLEASE PEOPLE STAY AWAY...
Read moreI started having a problem with my gaming PC hard crashing launching specific games, and determined I needed a new PSU. I purchased one from Best Buy and on installation my PC was powering up for all of one second before shutting down.
I called Geek Squad first to see if they could help test the part, but I ew as clearly routed to a call center who didnt understand my issue and only wanted to schedule an appointment. I declined, and called Intrex. I spoke with Eric who immediately understood my concern, didnt want an appointment, and advised they had the ability to run a basic test on the hardware for free.
When I got there I was helped by Ryan who tested and confirmed the brand new PSU voltage was inadequate and was exceptionally helpful with describing how I could work with Best Buy: advising their return policies as best he could, looking up their inventory unprompted to see if they could swap it, and had experience to advise the specific PSU I had brought had some known issues among other PCs he had worked on.
If you are having PC issues I cannot recommend Intrex on Battleground highly enough. Eric and Ryan were both kind and knowledgable enough to interpret my novice descriptors of the issue. Take your...
