EDIT
A few hours later I was contacted by the owner Cody who offered an apology, and also offered to honor the promotion. However, that's what I would have recieved had the encounter ran smoothly with the manager. I appreciate his sincerity, ultimately, I have decided not to accept the offer to host my daughter's party there. I am willing to give them credit for accepting responsibility for my less than satisfactory experience. It sounded like they were going to work on escalations moving forward. Let's hope so!

I recently had a pretty crummy customer experience with Mad Splatter Paint Studio in Greensboro, North Carolina. I visited MS last month and had the best time! Eager to revisit, I'd planned to book my daughter's birthday celebration with one of their party packages. Conveniently, I received an email about a promotional 20% off a $200 gift card purchase by 12/25. The email stated "Have questions? Respond to this email" which I did. I asked if the gift cards were able to be used for birthday party bookings, two days after the promo email was sent, 12/23. With no response by 12/28, I called to ask the question directly to an associate. The first person I spoke wasn't able to assist, and directed me to a manager. The manager contacted the owner who was out of town. The manager called back to say the owner would not honor the promotion, because it expired 12/25. I mentioned the email I'd sent before the end of the promotional period, citing time and date. The manager responded that they have lots of emails and likely didn't get to it. She continued that I should have reached out via other social media platforms/contact methods to reach them. Everyone does not have social media, and also it was the holidays. I did not expect an urgent response, however I did expect a response to the email, because that's the way they contacted me. Additionally, I was unaware of the socials at the time. I have worked in customer service for several years, and was astounded at their response to missing my email, when they solicited it. By then, I'd already decided to take my business elsewhere but was extremely disappointed with how I was spoken to and disregarded as a hopeful and loyal customer. I mentioned that I would be leaving a review and was practically dared. I love supporting local businesses and putting my friends, family and customers into the best places! Unfortunately, I absolutely do not reccomend this place at...

I like to bring my daughters to Mad Splatter every now and then because it seems like the older they get the harder it is to connect with them. Coming in to the environment you provide and sitting together without electronics distracting them is exactly the right setting we need to accomplish this. And BONUS...they actually enjoy time with Mom there because they love to paint and the staff makes it fun, especially Katie. They feel like they're coming in to see a friend. This makes me happy.
We recently came in specifically to see Katie but she was on vacation. My youngest actually turned to me with a look on her face as though she was questioning if we should leave. I thought that spoke volumes. We stayed:). I have to say that we did have another positive experience, but it was different without her there. The vibe was just not as light and fun. I guess our experience was an 8, rather than a 10+. Not that anyone did anything disappointing or that we had a bad experience. We were simply expecting to see Katie and the experience wasn't as fun. We ended up not staying as long as usual and didn't linger around like normal had she been there. So we left to get ice cream.
Katie is such a kind young lady. She's very helpful and gives my girls the kind of attention that you don't normally find when visiting establishments. She not only tends to their needs while they paint, but she offers helpful tips, is complimentary, and very personable. She doesn't ignore me either. That happens a lot when we are out and about. She's a doll.
All too often we go into places and the interaction with employees is simply not all that pleasurable. Getting a smile or basic customer service etiquette can be rare. Katie is welcoming...like a big shiny light that radiates through the studio as you walk in. She sets an example for my girls and I appreciate her influence on them each time we come in. They look up to her. I honestly hope that my girls will find someone like her to become lifelong friends with. That would make this mom elated (and admittedly, relieved). 🥰
So with all that said, I guess what I really want to say is that Katie checks all the boxes of what I'd want in an employee (and a big sister or friend for my girls). We adore her. We intentionally come in to the studio to see her almost more so than to paint. Ha. She's a great kid. I hope she sticks around for a long time. Sincerely. ...
Read moreMad Splatter is amazing! It’s new, clean, and tons of space to spread out. I love their huge variety of Pottery items to choose from with so many affordable options. Prices are listed on every piece and you can see all the pricing or pick your pieces in advance by shopping on their site,, it’s super transparent. The best part is that their studio fee is only $5 bucks which gets you access to over 100 different paint colors all on visual display, plus you get to use all their brushes, glaze the piece for you then load it into their kilns for you to have it fired. Plus they help you along the way and clean up the mess when done,, It really just doesnt get anymore affordable than that... Your pottery piece is usually all done and ready for pickup in less than a week or so but they even send out reminders through text which is helpful.
The Splatter Zone is a completely unique and awesome experience. You can call the store for pricing or just book it online yourself through their site. All of the details of the bookings are included on there. You’ll want to reserve that in advance though because it can fill up. And believe me, you will want to try this.. They help you suit up, pick colors, setup your canvases, it’s super easy and so much fun. They even offer to take pictures for you, then send them to you at the end of your session?! They offer to load up your splatter paintings in your car, or offer to hold them for you free of charge. This is a must try.
If you decide to rent their party rooms,, they’re HUGE! Which provides tons of room to spread out. They will let you use their new refrigerators, plus the party room has its own paint bar right inside of it.
Mad Splatter is really great for anyone... the staff is super helpful and friendly. This place is awesome you must try it...
