I'm so glad that your restaurant is doing so well that you can afford to treat customers like disposable assets. We used call ahead for a table at 6:00 for a party of 8. We arrived at 5:50 and were told it would be 30-40 minutes. The lobby area was packed so we sat outside on the patio benches (in the cold) to give our 4 kids space to play and not annoy everyone inside.
I asked the manager on duty if we could take drinks outside where we were waiting. She said yes, so I waited for more than 15 minutes just to place a drink order because poor Joe at the bar was backed up do dishes instead of being able to serve customers (GET AN AUTOMATIC DISHWASHER).
40 minutes goes by since our arrival, we finished our drinks, and so we go back inside to see how much longer. The hostess says again 30-40 minutes. Is she just telling everyone 30-40 minutes? I approached the manager on duty – the lady I asked about taking the drinks outside. I said, “Listen, I’m not upset about the wait; I can see you’re slammed. I need a realistic wait time so I can make an informed decision (stay or go).” That’s when she takes a snarky nasty tone with me, “We paged your party, and you never came up. We only wait 10 minutes. You’ve been dropped from the list.”
I’m confused. How were we dropped from the list? We never received a notification. We told her this multiple times and attempted to show her the phone, but she wouldn’t look! I’m trying to explain to her that we’ve been out front the whole time, and she should know - I asked her about taking the drinks there. She proceeded to repeat to herself that we were paged and never came in.
Meanwhile, the hostess is being obnoxious and nasty, rolling her eyes and making faces and comments under her breath to anyone who would listen. I asked the manager, if we “fell off the list, then why did the hostess JUST tell us it would be 30-40 minutes? That means she’s literally just making times up – she didn’t bother to even look for us on the list - because you're telling me we aren't on it.” Are you really that lazy that you couldn't open the front door and call our name? I mean I have walked out to the front patio with 4 margarita shakers and 4 beers..... soo where do you think we've gone with all the alcohol?
Now, I’ve spent $75 at the bar, we've waited an hour, and we're going back on the list to repeat this crazy? Just bring back the buzzers/pages and do away with the call-ahead concept if this is the quality of staff you plan to hire. Your own manager can't manage her staff and your hostess has ZERO grasp of dining room turnover. Another fine example of customer...
Read moreI am so disappointed after my trip today. My family frequent this Longhorn regularly as we have been so pleased with the food and service which has become increasingly hard to find these days. I usually even sneak in a weekday lunch since I enjoy it so much. Unfortunately today may have soured me from ever going back. Before I describe what happened I want to preface by saying that I worked at two different local steakhouses for 10 years in various positions including management, so I am usually very understanding. Today was my birthday so I figured I would treat myself. I received a server who we’ve never had before - Reggie was his name according to the receipt. I am still unsure if he is in some sort of management role, or if he is just doing the bartending/bar area. After having him come back a second time to reconfirm my order, since he didn’t write it down, I began my initial extended wait for my salad. I did not keep track of the time but I estimate that I waited 10 minutes for my Caesar salad and a drink refill. At this point I became a bit worried because usually when this happens the entree will come right on top of the salad and it will get cold by the time you finish the salad. I was relieved that the entree came out when it did. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to me, when Reggie dropped off my ribs it would be the last time I see him for over 20 minutes. After I dug in I realized that my side of ranch appeared to have been baked in an oven; it must have been sitting in the window for a longgg time. My ribs did not come with the side of bbq sauce as they have so many times before it and they desperately needed it this time. I patiently waited and waited and waited so I could ask for these things along with a drink refill. After about 10 minutes I gave up, my food had gone cold. At that point I just wanted to leave. I waited another 10 minutes give or take before having to finally break down and ask the hostess for help. Someone from the back came with a box, and my check, I am not sure if she was a manager or not. No one ever identified themselves as a manager of any sort even after I expressed my disdain for the service, or lack thereof. Reggie brought back my receipt and asked if I was upset with the food or service. I told him a bit of both and that it’s the worst service I have ever had there. He apologized, but honestly didn’t seem too bothered about it. I sincerely hope other customers do not have to deal with such a...
Read moreI use this Longhorn regularly through the pandemic. We call and order curbside service and when they started curbside service and into the fall they’ve been great. Over the past couple of months Nov, Dec, Jan the service has not good and the food has also not been as good.
The biggest problem of late has been placing an order They literally will not pick up the phone leaving you on hold endlessly or even purposely dropping those holding to free up lines or ignore orders to put in and fill. I had it happen at 2 PM on a Sunday (Not as busy as Friday or Saturday evenings) not a busy time at all. I held for 10 minutes before being hung up on and again for 5 minutes before being hung up on and then immediately when I went to hold a 3rd time. My wife called and held for 10 minutes with no one ever answering before she just gave up. This is not the only time but today was the worst. Many of the times we have ordered over the past couple of months they’ve told us approximately when it would be ready only for us to get there to see a row of cars with one person bringing out orders and to eventually find that ours is not ready yet and then to have to spend 20-40 minutes waiting for it.
Lately when we have successfully ordered the baked potatoes have been hard and undercooked at least the last 3 times we’ve ordered. Steaks are usually fine many times allergens such as pecans are left on or dressings are incorrect.
Oct 11,2021 you will not believe what happened the week or two after this review. My wife tried to call one evening to pick up dinner on the way home & she was literally hung up on 4 times (ring pick up hang up). On the 5th try someone answered my wife explained what had happened and the hostess actually said “yes we’re busy” Unbelievable!
We changed from this location to the Wendover location for the next 6 months or so.
We’ve recently started using this location again and it’s better but still slow and they still can’t fully cook their potatoes even the sweet potatoes are often hard in the middle.
Sweet potatoes have been better lately. They do decent at getting the steaks right. I advise you check steaks before you take out bc they’ll be overcooked 20-30% of the time. They pretty good making it right on site and sometimes after your home and discover the problem. So I’m moving their rating back up from the bad service we experienced previously described as we take out a lot from here and it’s now...
