TLDR; Your children will be yelled at at the Candy World. Spend your money elsewhere for confections.
Absolutely dumbfounded by my experience at the Candy World. The man and woman working the shop became incredibly belligerent as I tried to take a picture of some of the merchandise. The woman said in an incredibly aggressive tone that pictures weren't allowed, to which I complied and placed the candy back, nevermind that they don't have any signs pointing to this rule. To my surprise, the man behind the counter was SCREAMING, pointing at me and accusing me of ignoring him (I genuinely could not hear him, I was all the way across the store).
We had tried to calmly explain that we weren't intentionally breaking any rules, only for him to increase his tone and tell us that we need to leave if we're not going to buy anything (when we were literally picking merchandise up and we had been there for less than 5 minutes) eventually driving someone in my group to tears with how aggressive he was. Up until then the staff appeared absent with other customers even asking if we had worked there. As soon as the conflict arose, the store cleared out.
We weren't trying to cause any trouble, we were paying customers who were carrying bags from other stores. Other customers witnessed the conflict and agreed we had done nothing wrong. We were planning to visit other stores at the Haywood Mall but ultimately decided to leave after the stress and absurdity of this conflict
Absolutely pathetic experience and downright awful excuses for their behavior. You would be better off buying candy at a...
Read moreI did not buy anything in the store the two associates were rude! When I went in the store I was not aware that you had to buy candy by the pound not by the piece. When the Indian lady that works in the store approached me she said if you want a piece you need to use the gumball machine at the entrance you have to buy more than one! So I let that go just as information that this is how you purchase items here. As my girls are trying to figure out what they want I am explaining to them we have to buy more than one piece of candy and I can get them a bag of candy. So as my daughter is trying to figure out what she wants and my other daughter is asking can she have some gum the Indian man that works in the store comes from behind the counter comes and grabs a bag and starts stuffing it with candy and says take this candy you can’t buy just one piece! Mind it is other patrons in the store that he is not treating this way. I tell him put the bag down I can choose my own candy for my children! And then he proceeds to go back behind the counter. At this point because I was treating so rudely I would never go back to this store again! I mean it was candy and they acted like we were going to take a piece of gum!...
Read moreI came to this store browsing for the different variety of candy that I haven't seen for a while. I came across a few I wanted to buy, the I noticed the store owner following me around the store. His wife suggested I get a little at a time to weigh it so I wouldn't spend so much. Once I did, I went to the front to weigh it, it was $4 for 25 jelly beans. Then, I told the store owner I wanted to buy other candy too. Immediately the owner started yelling and spitting while I'm in front of my 9 year old because he thought I was putting it back. The wife then pushed me out of the store telling me it's my fault. Smh, maybe they should learn respect, decency, and English before they try to run a store. Not too mention he was still yelling at me after I left the store saying I don't understand, but they do... Never go here, ever.. Horrible for humans to be treated like that especially when you know the consumers are the ones paying to keep...
