My friend, his girlfriend, and I recently visited the Cheesecake Factory in Greenville, SC to celebrate her birthday—a night that was supposed to be special but turned into a frustrating and disappointing experience from start to finish.
From the moment we were seated, the service was a disaster. Our server disappeared for stretches of 20 minutes at a time, leaving not just our table, but several others in her section unattended. After waiting over an hour, another server—not ours—finally brought our food. Unfortunately, the food was cold, the order was incorrect, and to top it off, no steak knives were provided for the steaks.
We waited an additional 30 minutes trying to flag down our server, but she never returned to the dining area. I eventually had to get up and find a manager myself to get the situation addressed. The manager corrected the food issues, but we still hadn’t seen our original server.
When she finally returned, she told us she had to “breast pump”—a comment that was completely unprofessional and unnecessary, especially while we were trying to eat. It’s understandable that employees have personal needs, but leaving an entire section of tables without coverage during a busy dinner service is unacceptable. That should be scheduled during a break—not at the expense of the guests’ experience.
After that, she continued to serve other tables but remained noticeably short with us. She walked off multiple times while we were trying to ask for boxes and our checks. It felt like we were being dismissed and treated as an inconvenience.
What made everything worse was that despite our complaint and the major service breakdown, management didn’t offer even a small discount or gesture to make up for the disaster of a night—especially given how much money we spent. The lack of accountability and empathy was appalling.
It seems like the management team—especially the female managers—operate under the belief that they can do no wrong. There was zero ownership of the service issues we faced, and the general attitude seemed to be that the customer is not always right.
What used to be one of our favorite places for food and service has clearly taken a nosedive. This was easily the worst dining experience we’ve had in a long time. We were there over 2 hours for a party of just 3 people, and the restaurant wasn’t even busy.
We won’t be returning unless they make some major changes—and I’d advise anyone considering a visit to think twice if they expect even...

Read moreI bought a half a cheesecake and a slice of red velvet cheesecake from the cheesecake factory. I'm out of town a lot, so I rarely visit the cheesecake factory in town. After I bought the cheesecake I brought it home, picked up our dinner from Olive garden and headed home. After dinner, my family and I were ready to indulge. We took a bite and the consensus was that the cheesecake was old or had spoiled. The next day I had a trip to go out of town and just arrived back today. Honesty I had forgotten about it until I opened the fridge and it was still there. I wasn't going to ask for an exchange(I didn't want a refund, just none spoiled cheesecake) I called the manager and for some reason she couldn't find my order receipt and I had a receipt that the order was apart of because I bought a $50.00 gift card to get the $15 to give to someone as a small gift. She told me to bring the cake and the receipt and she would make it right. I had an MRI at 2pm today, so I had my daughter take it with the receipt. My daughter said the manager took the cheesecake and receipt and went to the back. She came and asked my daughter could she have requested a different kind and changed her mind. I was in between getting the family a chocolate based cheesecake, but I decided on the deleche. I know I spelled that wrong. Sorry. But she then took the cheesecake and receipt to the back again. My daughter waited around 20 minutes. A nice guy even bought her a slice and said she was beautiful. Off subject but the manager then comes back and says there is nothing we can do because we don't know if it was spoiled then or now. I told her the night we bought it we tasted it and it was spoiled so I guess she didn't believe black people who had just bought a 7 inch cheesecake two days before and it was fine. That's why I didn't want a refund I just wanted un spoiled cheesecake for $35.00. i guess the manager thought I was lying because she asked my daughter did she want spoiled cheesecake and my daughter insisted she throw it away and walked out like the classy woman I taught her to be. This put a really bad taste in my mouth about the Greenville...
