So I came into the store on Saturday the 4th and it was hectic very busy. There was only one register open at that so I took my time shopping hoping that they would open more registors or the line would die down. Well about after an hour I make my way to the front noticing that the line is still very long and still only one cashier. There were other employees standing around ,talking , and goofing off. JUst were not taking their job seriously .Someone caught my attention and touched my heart with overall kindness and that would be the young lady on the register her name tag read Brittany . She deserves alot of Recognition and praise. A Pat on the back , a Raise, Bonus something. Not only was she fast ,efficient, bagging her own groceries she did it with an amazing smile and attitude .She was kind and very friendly her customers. Her customer service skills were through the roof . An irritated customer about 2 people in front of me was giving this young lady a hard time and just damn right rude and hateful . But ms brittany just kept a smile during the whole ordeal and responded in kind. I think her positive outlook and how she handled the situation changed the mean womans attitude. Who then apologized for her rudeness and to ms brittany. Every customer That was in line in front of me she was smiling at she was laughing she was trying to make them feel better apologizing for the wait ect . So the name was Brittney on her nametag , and my receipt said cashier 222 so I'm not sure how yall do things but I do know that young lady definitely went above and beyond with her customer service and And her overall kindness . With the hate in the world now a days she was a bust of fresh air and positive energy . I honestly hope that this reaches brittany and the bosses see that they have a valued Employee . BRITTANY WAY TO GO . KEEP UP THE Phenomenal work and know your Customer service is hard to come by and chicka let me tell you *YOU GOT IT *

   Read moreI shop here weekly. And I use the self checkouts. There's about a 25% chance that something has to be corrected once I review the receipt because a coupon didn't register or the like. Accidents happen, systems aren't perfect, and I understand this. No problem. The problem happens when I go up to the customer service desk to get the issue resolved. They generally do correct the discrepancy, that's why I am giving 2 stars instead of 1. It's just the attitude of these young women that help me that I have a problem with. I never get an apology for my trouble. I never get a thank you for shopping there when the transaction is complete. I just get attitude. I'm sorry, but it's not my fault the register didn't ring the products up at the correct price. I just want to pay the price it was advertised at, that's all. It takes a lot for me to sit down and write a review. I truly am sorry these women hate their job. But what they need to realize is that it is customers like me who spend THOUSANDS of dollars in their store every year that keep them employed. And a little show of respect goes a long way. This is not a once in a while thing. It happens all the time. The interaction I had with the young lady on register 2 on the afternoon of 5/21 made me irritated enough to post this review. And I may be switching grocery stores because I'm tired of it. There's actually another Foodlion with nicer folks a few miles down the road who seem to appreciate...

I regularly go into Food lion to either shop or dash for customers and the customer service desk/self checkout is always teaming with employees that are staring down customers while talking down about any particular customer that makes a mistake to another employee. These particular employees do not have a welcoming/customer friendly demeanor. They often give off mean girl vibes.
Today, I went in to shop for a customer. At self checkout the screen indicated that it needed an employeeâs ID number. Obviously, I wasnât moving fast enough when Destiny said excuse me because then she says move out of the way and nudges me. I donât appreciate being treated in such away as I am a paying customer that is also shopping on behalf of another customer. Destinyâs actions werenât warranted. Foodlion really needs to address the staff up at self checkout because no one should have to be treated in such way. I will not shop at Foodlion any time soon until their customer service improves.
