Red Sunset Park is one of the nicest community parks in Gresham and a perfect spot for families. The playground is well-maintained, with plenty of equipment for kids of different ages — from swings and slides to climbing structures and a tot lot for little ones. The area is safe, clean, and surrounded by benches and picnic tables, making it easy for parents to relax while keeping an eye on their children.
Beyond the playground, the park has so much to offer. The pond with its fountain is peaceful and adds a beautiful touch of nature, often attracting ducks and geese that kids love to watch. There’s a paved walking path around the park that’s great for a short stroll, jog, or just enjoying the scenery.
The park also features open fields, basketball courts, soccer areas, and reservable picnic shelters with BBQ grills, making it ideal for family gatherings or community events. Everything feels well cared for, and the mix of open space and shade from mature trees creates a welcoming atmosphere.
Overall, Red Sunset Park is a wonderful place to spend a morning or afternoon — whether you’re there for the playground, a walk around the pond, or a picnic with friends. It’s a true neighborhood...
Read moreThis park is AMAZING! my 9 year old daughter and i recently moved into the neighborhood and stumbled upon this little oasis. Not the largest park iv ever seen but it has great variety packed into it! Just off of the top of my memory there was 2 play structures/areas; one for younger kids (safety swings and the like) and another for older/more adventuresome kids with clever toys I hadn't seen before such as monkey bars that spin and a huge spider Web for climbing! There is also a basketball court a couple of covered areas with picnics tables and electrical outlets (for music you dig? ) and 2 wood bridges, which bring me to the coolest part (for us anyway)... they have a beautiful and quite large pond and fountain for waterfowl! And let me tell you, there were ALOT of gorgeous birds! We saw duck, Canadian geese and even a pair of swans! Be sure to watch your step or better yet, wear an old pair of shoes you don't mind getting bird poop on and don't sweat it! Very cool park for kids AND mom and I think my daughter said it best as we were leaving. .. "mom, this is my new favorite place!" (I have to agree with her...
Read moreThe basketball court is literally unusable. The city of Gresham useses some odd plastic wire for the nets that make your ball get caught everytime you make a shot. I have never seen this at any park anywhere besides here. I was hoping to come back today to see if anything has changed but now its even worse. Now one of the nets is tangled up so one hoop cant be used at all while on the other hoop it looks like someone tried to rip down the net but it bent part of the rim out. Using this kind of net was a huge mistake. Please just get nylon like every other park. Yes it will need to be replaced every once in a while but it is better then being unusable like it is now. I am giving the park one star because this is such a glaring screw up that can easily be fixed. Its a great park for running and anything else you might want to do but the bball court needs to be useable! I will gladly change the rating as soon...
