I’m disable retired military. I brought my service dog in and as soon as I walked in I was yelled at from a big man from across the cafe “you can’t bring that dog in” I
I said he was a service dog then the guy immediately just said “don’t let him in the furniture” (which service dogs don’t do?)
I picked a spot that I thought wasn’t being used because no one was there, but I guess the same guy’s friend’s kid was going back and forth from it? (Still don’t understand that part) but my dog was just laying at my feet and the same guy yelled at me “see your dog scared off a kid” in front of everyone again. When he was literally just laying at my feet.
I just wish all of this would’ve been taken care of more professionally. I don’t understand why I couldn’t have just ordered my coffee and him just ask me if my dog was a service dog at the register instead of yelling with a stern voice across the whole cafe.
In fact, if he would’ve just done that the whole interaction would have been a lot shorter too. I’m not one to stay where I’m not wanted, but I did want a good cup of coffee. I was too nervous to actually order any bc I didn’t want to get yelled at again.
I was thrown really off guard by this and in the end I tried talking to him and all I got told was “I’m just...
Read moreCame by to grab a coffee after working in Guntersville a few weeks ago. This lounge took the place of Jamoka's coffee shop, but although they both served coffee, the vibes are very different now -- in a good way!
Moody Brew has coffee, Piper and Leaf tea, pastries, and the coziest art deco/French bistro vibes you could ask for. It's a good bit, well, moodier than the last occupant and very much my scene. It felt welcoming, tidy, and low-key. Great spot to quietly catch up with a friends or do some reading. The bathroom was clean when I visited it.
I ordered one of their signature drinks. They also have a seasonal menu for fall. I can't remember the name of it -- they all have funny names like "Sassy Britches," etc. -- but it was a latte of some sort with I believe caramel and mocha add-ins. It was a nice portion for the price ratio and was an invigorating pick-me-up after a long day. Maybe a little heavy on the milk for my preference, but overall I enjoyed it.
The baristas were polite and considerate of the extra time I needed to peruse the menu. I was eager to get started on my drive home, but otherwise I'd have been happy to have stayed a while and hung out.
Will return in the future next time I'm around and...
Read moreMoody Brews Coffee & Lounge has a very inviting and comfortable atmosphere. Inviting couches and plenty of table space to work or eat on. The decor is very nicely done, and overall, it is a great place to work or sit and chat while enjoying a treat. I ordered a cappuccino and a cheese danish and was amazed. The cappuccino was perfection, a smooth and well-balanced coffee combined with fresh milk and a perfect foam later. My cheese danish was flaky and crisp with a creamy cheese filling, not too sweet and was a perfect balance with the cappuccino. My experience was absolutely beautiful, the flavors, the atmosphere, and the kind staff made for a great stop. I highly recommend stopping by. Oh and grab some coffee beans too, they are perfection that you can take with you and recreate the flavor experience at home making for a great start...
