Tickner's — Attraction in Hackettstown

I am new to the area, and needed some nice screened topsoil for my new home. I used this place and almost 3 months later I’m still kicking myself and battling with this sludge. They brought me 3 yards of nasty dirt!!! I’m 48 years old and never in my days have I seen topsoil like this!!! Hard chunks like meteors and smell of raw sewage. I think my yard is contaminated now! Anyway, I called to speak with the owner and he would not get on the phone with me. The girls (very nice) there dealt with me and said we can bring you some better stuff, no charge. Well they brought me something but turned out to be more crap dirt. And now I was left with 6 yards of concrete like dirt worse then fill dirt!! And no machine to move it. 3 months later I’m still fighting with this garbage in my driveway. Trying to break it up by hand in the driveway before bringing it to the yard. They really made an easy thing turn into a nightmare. I am not exaggerating here, when I tell you this. I will not use them for anything bulk anymore. It’s a shame what the owner did to me. I can’t be the only one this has happened to. Please beware...
