The best restaurant in Hagerstown. We've tried everything. This is it, bar none. I've never had a restaurant consistently exceed my expectations every single time I've eaten here.
The appetizers are amazing. The fried rice, the noodles, and the meat are all amazing. The dessert is perfect, not sickeningly sweet. The Thai Iced Tea is a must-have, as are the Crab Rangoons and the Pork appetizer special when they have it. The Crying Tiger Steak is amazing. The meat is good on its own, but the sauce they provide takes it to a whole other level.
The service is phenomenal. The server is always kind, super attentive, and remembers his customers. Tonight he even brought my girlfriend a Thai Iced Tea before she even ordered one because he knew she would. He even gave us the table that we always sit at, and REMEMBERED that.
The atmosphere is great. Very cozy and pleasant, with thoughtful decorations, warm lighting, and string lights. It's just a beautiful place to eat at.
This has been and continues to be my favorite restaurant in Hagerstown. You're doing yourself a disservice by not trying it. In particular, I recommend: Crab Rangoons Crying Tiger Steak Lo Mein (w/chicken) Basil Fried Rice...
Read moreOkay, so I came to Rice Thai for the first time while in town visiting family. My parents hyped up the establishment, and I am always eager to visit a new Thai restaurant, so we took a ride out to Hagerstown.
Walking in, I loved the feeling I got of entering someone’s home, which let me know that I was in for a true treat. O’ was I correct. First was the THAI ICED TEA which, seemingly simple, was quite delicious, balanced in sweetness and creaminess. The CALAMARI was light, crisp and cooked to perfection. The sauce was (I believe) a sweet-chili.
For my main dish, I had the VEGETABLE DRUNKEN NOODLES. Pure heaven! It’s one of my favorite dishes anyhow, but this one tasted like a home-cooked meal! Just. WOW! The portions were perfect and the spice level was authentic - this coming from someone who hasn’t been to Thailand (yet).
Dessert was pure ecstasy, as I had the MANGO STICKY RICE. To LIVE for! I HIGHLY recommend this and I was told that the FRIIED BANANA & THAI COCONUT ICE CREAM was just as incredible, so I will have to try that one during my next visit. Oh yes, there will be a next visit. So if you happen to see me there, don’t stare, say hi and let me know what you’re going to try....
Read moreReviews are typically made when they either really like something or are really unhappy. This evening which would be our first of many visits, my husband and I are in awe. We WILL be returning. I spent most of my teenage years and much of my young adulthood eating a lot of Thai food. I've even attended the Songkran Festival every April in D.C. since I was 15 and I'm 36 now. Hana is SPOT on with the authenticity which I appreciate because often times, restaurants like that lack that true taste. I can't wait to visit again to try something different. This visit I got the green curry and satay. DELICIOUS. As for the restaurant itself, impressive as well!! Beautiful and simple. You can peer into the back kitchen which looks very clean and the staff is friendly. I couldn't have asked for anything better. The only thing that we THOUGHT was going to be a downfall was the portion size for the price. But boy were we wrong!! We still have half of our entrées!!! I look forward to my...
