Hagerstown Skate Park — Attraction in Hagerstown

This skate park, when it first opened, was a welcome addition to Hagerstown, giving kids a place to skateboard, bike, or ride their scooters. The only issue is that now there is almost always a very large group of teens who are not skating but sitting and just hanging out in the skating areas and blocking whole sections so that those skating, etc., do not have access to those areas. Not to mention smoking (which is supposed to be restricted, and I'm not just talking about cigarettes). Most of those who are using the area for its intended purpose are respectful of others' space, helpful, keep to themselves, and are just trying to enjoy the park. It's just now nearly every time I take my grandson it's an issue, and they're extremely disrespectful, and you can hear the parents and those who are actually using the area complaining about not being able to use certain areas because it's blocked with those just sitting there when there is an entire park to hang out. Hagerstown skatepark is killer! I live in Chambersburg Pa & have been going every weekend for a bit now. Park is super nice, majority of the folks there are really laid back & supportive to other skaters & the younglings that frequent the area.

It would be nice if there were bathrooms closer to the park, rather than like… 100 yds away though!?

I.. as a Gammy.. love this park so much. I take many pictures of all the peoples , big and small, young and old… such a wonderful place for people of all ages… everyone is curtious and the older guys take interest in the younger ones.. giving advice .. I have made friends with many there and on the Skatepark website on Facebook… posting pics of all the people is fun for me and many have thanked me for doing it. Never know when you may see yourself on Facebook!!!
