ALL THE STAFF at the entrance gate are EXTREMELY RUDE every time we come.
Why do you offer programs for FAMILIES? If all you have are rude people.
1st time we came for the Family Bonfire, we registered for the program scheduled for 7-8:30 we got here 15 min early and were greeted with a "you have to leave at 7:20 " we told them we were registered for the program offered by them past that time and they said they didn't care. The ranger offering the program , Nicole Drake was the only nice and sweet person and was surprised we were not allowed to stay past this time, there were plenty of parking spots, they offer a program, yet you can't park in the park, why even offering a program at that time then?
2nd time we came for Junior Rangers on Saturday, parking was full they said, they said even the camping parking was full, I said "my kids are registered for the junior rangers program" because in other state parks like " Sunset State Beach" and "New Brighton" they're organized enough to reserve parking for the registered families for this programs, but Betty or Betsy (not sure) had no clue there was a program, she called someone and then told me I should drop off my kid not right there where I was but at the beginning of the entrance gate, so they could WALK BY THEMSELVES to where the program happens, that's a 20 minute walk, I asked can't the ranger walk with them, to what she Said "NO THEY CAN WALK BY THEMSELVES" I told her you say i should drop off my 7 years old to walk 20 minutes by themselves to attend a program offer by you in which you won't let me drop them off, and she said YES, everything with a big rude attitude , I told her that was VERY irresponsible and rude, she told me to move.
I drove out, had to park far away outside the park and walked in WITH MY KIDS to find PLENTY OF PARKING!
this is the worst place because their staff are RUDE, MEAN and clearly HATE their job.
Stop offering programs if you hate people so much! I can't even imagine camping here!
And Supposedly California state parks are for Californians, ha! what a joke, save yourself a really bad time and go anywhere else, this is the only place where staff...

Read moreWhen booking this site with California state parks, the booking agent told us there was only one spot available in the 3rd row back from the ocean so we booked it and then about 5 minutes later we were online and noticed there was more spots available that were closer to the ocean but they refused to change our booking without an $8 fee added to our bill even though it was the booking agents fault. I even spoke to a manager who could have easily changed our booking for us without a charge but he refused to do so. He raised his voice with me and was quite rude, refusing to take responsibility for his employees mistake. When we arrived at the campground it was still light out and quite evident that there were quite a few spots still left available. Some of them had reserved signs on them but nobody showed up. The showers at this location are public and you have to pay to use them. $1.25 for 5 minutes. They are disgusting inside. The bathrooms are also disgusting. On this two-week trip down the California coast I have used quite a few public restrooms in gas stations that were much much cleaner. There is no hot water in the bathrooms and no soap or anything to dry your hands with at all. Not up to health codes at all. The camp spot consists of a concrete pad and some dirt and grass and a dirty picnic table. There are very few trees in any sites and no privacy whatsoever. The only good thing about this campsite is it is right on the ocean so you can watch the beautiful waves roll in and the surfers. I would not stay here again. It is not a comfortable...
