I mean, we all know how gamestop is. You buy a 60 dollar game and you're lucky to get 20 bucks to trade it in. Honestly when I bought some switch games last week I noticed they were cheaper on the switch marketplace. I wish they'd give higher returns especially if the game or system your trading is basically flawless. They always try to upsell everything in their disposal once they know what you're looking for and yeah they're probably told to do that but speaking as a customer I sometimes avoid going there just because of that. I mean, some of the employees can be really pushy and if you deny still they kinda look at you like you're stupid. Not speaking for all of them. Had a good experience with some lady working there, I found a used xbox series x and it works perfect but when I went to buy it plus the 3 games she wasn't pushy at all just suggested that if I went pro that my total would actually go down 40 bucks plus the benefits (which I don't care much for) after reluctantly saying yes my total did go down 40 and the pro membership was basically free. She was very polite and if she offered something (warranty for example) and I said no, she didn't push she heard no and actually listened to me and I appreciate that. I don't go there much these days mainly cause you can find games on whatever system for cheaper than gamestop sells them, and the fact you get next to nothing for trading in anything and less if you want cash. You're better off posting whatever you're selling on Facebook or Craigslist etc. You'll get a lot more money than they offer. Other than those 2 problems they all seem to be friendly and will talk to you about whatever game and even give recommendations based on your preferred style of game. Even past employees, I can honestly say I don't think I've ever had an experience where I was treated badly in any way. So, overall, Gamestop has its pluses and negatives. As it always has. As far as this location i give customer service 10/10 (theyll even go out of their way to warn you if youre buying for a child and it has any type of partial nudity or extreme gore, which i can respect the honesty), salesmanship 5/10 (extremely pushy) and trade ins 2/10 (because they dont give hardly anything), use social media to sell! But a plus, if you get lucky like me and find a system you want used then you are lucky and in my experience do it over new, because when they get a system in they check it and everything and make sure it works good, so in other words you won't buy something broken like you risk when buying from a stranger and you have 7 days to bring it back for a refund and 30 days if it messes up theyll replace it free. (This goes for games too, perks of buying used) For systems I'll always go here, and maybe for merch if I'm feeling it. But games are cheaper on the systems marketplace. Overall I gave 3 stars but honestly it's more like 3.5 stars. Stop being so pushy and be fair when people trade in games, and if a game is cheaper on marketplace, match the price please. If all that was done I'd have no problem giving 5 stars. Also fair warning, don't buy systems from pawn shops, it might be tempting but once you buy it no matter if it breaks the same day or whatever may go wrong, the transaction is done and over and they won't make it right, it's not exactly their job. And I'm pretty sure they don't check the systems besides to see if it turns on. I bought a switch from a pawn shop and it had parental controls locked behind a password! There was nothing they could do, or even offered to do. Also one more plus for gamestop, pre ordering games and (idk if they still do it since covid) midnight releases. I've always had a good time at a midnight release surrounded by people that are going for the same game. It's easy to make friends this way, I'd be sad to find out they don't do it anymore but I'm not sure if they do or not. Regardless 3.5 stars is my personal grade for the reasons stated above. (Along with some...
Read moreGreat Customer Service! Only problem with this store (and the one at Bridgewater) is they do not keep their online store "in-stock" products up-to-date. I often find, once I call the store directly, that an item not listed as being currently in-stock, is actually at their store and available for purchase. The clerk indicated they try to keep the top-selling and new games, gaming accessories, up-to-date on the website but told me to always call and have them check if an item is in-stock, especially if it's not a recently released item, before driving to another Game Stop simply because the website shows the item I want is available at that store. He said different stores have different systems monitoring their inventory, and that theirs doesnt do the best job! So, remember to call them before wasting your time driving to Middletown or Northgate, when u can find what you're looking for by simply calling them directly!!! They are always...
